Tonga gain Staggs but lose Talakai for Kiwis Test
NSW Origin stars Daniel Tupou and Kotoni Staggs have been named in the Mate Ma’a Tonga team for the upcoming Test against New Zealand in Auckland.
Talakai, Katoa, Fifita all named (first two starting, Fifita #21)
Nikora, Ronnie in NZ squad (Sorensen too). Ronnie would be close to a sure thing to make team Nikora & Sorensen probably fighting with one or two others for last bench spot, especially if these use Foran on bench

Brown set for Kiwis debut as Johnson misses squad
Parramatta playmaker Dylan Brown has usurped Shaun Johnson in the Kiwis squad for the upcoming Test against Mate Ma’a Tonga in Auckland.

There bench is a huge worry imo. No JWH is a huge loss for them. Think Remis Smith also would of been included if fit.

The whole spine is pretty scraped together haha
1 who hasn't played fullback at NRL level
6 who is a gun centre with one NRL start at 5/8
7 who is 5/8 struggling next to Ben Hunt at club level
9 who is a forward that can cover 9 and not even playing 40 minutes most weeks
14 has two NRL appearances off the bench, no more than 30 mins
If they could fix two of those starting positions to the point you were like 'yeah he's a gun spine player' they'd be an absolute force.
Imagine if they had a good 6 which allowed Staggs to go to centre and a good 9 that allowed Havili to move to bench.
Maybe Isaiya Katoa ends up being one such player.
