Soooo many people owe Graham Arnold an apology, including the entire state of Victoria.
Ive never attacked Graham Arnold personally. Im a Sydney FC fan, Arnies a legend to us. Whereas the entire state of Victoria have been hounding him ever since he was appointed.

I was just realistic about the teams chances compared to who we had in our group. Absolutely delighted to be wrong about our chances.

I'm just yanking your chain mate. I doubt anyone thought we'd win two games, that's just an incredible achievement. Unbelievable.

If we can get past Argentina we plan either the Netherlands or the USA. Sure every game is a tough game, but they are definitely winnable games.

Can we just keep calling every Aussie team the worst team ever assembled? It seems to do something great for the motivation to leave everything on the pitch.

At least we can enjoy this success before watching the worst sharks team ever assembled this year..

Watched the extended highlights with my boy this morning. What a moment that goal was... I couldn't help think of the Sharks V Storm rivalries in the way Australia played. I thought it was a bit chaotic, really high energy and super disruptive. We never let them play their game and kept moving the ball around to create something... anything... And nailed one!

Really thought he'd messed up that chance at goal, but somehow pulled it together for a sensational finish. Just wow.

Fantastic goal from Leckie, prob the Socceroos 2nd best WC goal after Cahills stunning volley against the Netherlands but I don't recall one where we have beaten a defender like that, if it all

And it all started from deep in our own half with a nice interchange of passing and the through ball (final pass) was perfect

Looks like Matty Ryan had another big game

Argentina is a massive challenge but not impossible - I remember when we used to have to qualify through South America and came up against them (this was decades ago - Maradona was still playing). Think we managed a draw back then on home soil

I thought the win was worthy of a Gards' epic write up. I feel a little disappointed.

Germany gone, Belgium gone. Japan topping a group containing Spain and Germany. Morocco topping a group containing Belgium and Croatia. Add to that Denmark, considered smokies to win the whole thing, finished bottom of a group involving Australia and Tunisia. Yeah this world cup is bat **** crazy.

It's such a great tournament, there's nothing like it.

Because of all the upsets from random teams that you'd hardly believe should even be in it? 😉

Really is a fantastic spectacle. No wonder FIFA get away with murder with everything outside of the matches.

Makes it a much better spectacle vs flogging in each game by the heavy weights.
