Emerging Player trial v Dragons

Rugby League returns to PointsBet Stadium on Friday night when the Sharks will host the Dragons in what is being labelled an ‘emerging player trial’.

In a trial restricted to players who appeared in less than 12 games during the 2020 season, a number of the Sharks up and coming youngsters will mix in with a handful of more experienced campaigners for what represents the first intra-club hit out for both teams in 2021.

The likes of Nene Macdonald, Billy Magoulias, Braydon Trindall, Mawene Hiroti and Teig Wilton will be looking to impress coach John Morris and to put their names forward for a potential spot in the Sharks round one team, while added to those who boast NRL experience will be a host of youngsters, including three players who turned out for the Sharks under-19 SG Ball team in their round one match in Canberra last weekend.

Kick-off is scheduled for 5.30pm, with a round two Tarsha Gale girls match between the Sharks and Bulldogs to follow at 7.30pm.

The Tarsha Gale Sharks enjoyed a winning start to their season, beating the Raiders 16-10 in Canberra on Saturday.

Entry to PointsBet Stadium will be $5, with members free.

Reckon he’d be captain?

Teig maybe? Was captain in U20s*

One name missing that jumps out is Ferris. Milne not really a centre I wouldn't have thought.
Another one missing who could play centre is Jensen.

*edit: just after posting this I see Teig is the player used for the team list article on Sharks website too

so technically Moylan could be stretchered out for this game???

Morris needs to nail a couple draws in these trials to show he can match a Flanno pre-season and FMD only 3 players being tested out at fullback??? needs to be half the squad minimum
It's the non potato Jack Williams named at 6 right?

Also i take it the car park is not finished and they are expecting a small turn out?

I wonder if the game is going to be live streamed.

Weren’t we going to play at shark park last season but our broadcast box was “out of order?” I think I remember that being brought up. I’m optimistic though that it’s been fixed or we’ll at least get a live stream on the sharks site/FB/some legend.

So someone on reddit reckons Ferris isn't named because he is 'recovering from getting bashed (or bashing I forget)' - is this a thing?

It's probably the one that is a 6 and also qualifies for the game, yes

Streamed some last year, hopefully will be

Don’t be surprised if Billy M is trialing for two clubs on Friday night.

From what I’ve been told, a good showing could see him being involved in a certain swap deal.

Yeh no Ferris and Jensen is interesting.

They’re clearly ahead of others so might be about giving them a crack to prove themselves. Iro would be on train and trial so he should get to show what he can do.

And very possible we’ll get team changes.

And yeah Wilton for captain imo.

Maybe why Milne gets a run, think he’s train and trial. Still would think we run a centre and bench Milne

Milne was in some pre-season pics training at left centre. Might still be just a filler though. You’d think Samrani replaces him at some point.

Anyone know if you can watch this on delay on NRL? Or can you only watch live?
