You sub out your Captain for a non-playing reserve. That defaults the captain back to your VC.
You get zero for that player, but get the double points for the VC. Worth it if your replacing a centre or other 40 point bum.

You also get an auto emergency player ( your lowest scorer ) to replace the guy with 0.
