Yep could have done without the upcoming suspensions thought
Seriously we put a reserve grade team out there, could be worse next week

SJ OUT
Moylan OUT
Fifita OUT (well, in, but his knees are cooked he's lucky to be a bench forward)
Dugan OUT
Graham OUT
Woods IN!
Townsend OUT (released)
Ramien OUT

We played at most two of our top 8 paid players tonight.

And then for good measure further down the depth chart, Wilton, Hiroti, Pele & Ferris all OUT

Wouldn't be surprised if Rudolph gets a week for that head 'push.

18 point loss is ok - it could of been 50 easily.

From tonight's game I'm convinced:

1. our 2 wingers are totally useless in defence.
2. we need a class quick centre
3. Tracey struggled out there and not the answer to our halves
4. Trindall played ok. Can only get better
5. Tolman needs to come off the bench. He is buggered out there
6. Brailey heaps better when he runs
7. Woods offers nothing
8. Fifita needs more game time
9. I'd be playing nikora in the centres before Talakai
10. We need to sign a big prop - finunane is not the answer

Been saying it all year - we need a CLASSY back, the backline we have will never win a comp

Katoa is solid, Ronaldo needs a reset.

Never ever put Tracey in the halves again

can he play 5/8?

asking for a friend

Who cares if he can, he looks like a natural and wants to get involved - don’t think we have a choice unless he wants Kennedy’s spot there is nowhere else we could play him

Yeah I wouldn’t mind seeing Metcalf given a shot at 6. What do we have to lose? Tracey was a non factor there.

I was impressed with how we turned up. In the end the difference was a world class performance from the best player in the comp. Sure we had some soft defence at times, but if we turn up like that each week we will make the 8.

Yes - and bring over Lomax whilst we're at it.

Metcalf stars for NSW 18’s

A starring performance from young Shark Luke Metcalf has helped guide NSW to victory in an exciting under 18’s Origin fixture at ANZ Stadium last night.

Metcalf, a member of the Sharks SG Ball side in 2017, notched a hat trick for the Junior Blues in their 35-28 win over Queensland and was rewarded with the man-of-the-match award following fulltime.

Alongside Metcalf in the NSW team were two of his Sharks clubmates in Jaeman Salmon and Teig Wilton, with the pair playing strongly in the narrow Blues win.

Salmon paired with Metcalf in the halves, while Wilton, although named to start the game on the bench, played the full 70-minutes in an energetic performance on the NSW left edge.

In the opposition team was another Sharks contracted player in Ronaldo Mulitalo, who after scoring a try for Queensland in an impressive first half unfortunately left the field injured just a few minutes before the break and failed to return to the game.

The match featured several momentum swings, with NSW building a 10-0 lead before three unanswered tries to the young Maroons saw them take a 16-10 advantage to half time.

Two four pointers to Metcalf straight after the break saw NSW reassert their authority as they led 22-16, before Queensland again replied to level the scores.

NSW jumped in front before Queensland again bounced back, with the scores locked at 28-apiece with time running out.

Young Dragons centre Zac Lomax slotted a field goal with three minutes remaining to give his team the lead, before a late NSW try and sideline conversion sealed the result.

The victorious NSW team was coached by Brad Fittler, while former Sharks and Cowboys centre Josh Hannay was in charge of the Queensland squad.

The NSW Under 16’s will play the Queensland 16’s in the curtain-raiser to Origin 3, with a handful of young Sharks Matthews Cup players in line to represent the Blues

I was honestly expecting a blood batch and at 40-10 it was looking like that so the two late tries put some respectability on the scoreline.

Hopefully Moylan and Ramien back next week. Tieg might be close as would prefer him than Fifita on the bench.

Moylan will make a huge difference to the team.

Agree with all of that.

As things stand right now, our backline round 1 2022 is probably

Kennedy
Katoa
Ramien
Tracey
Ronnie

That is probably one of the slowest backlines in the comp and one dimensional.

We need a classy centre and a winger with pace for mine.

No need to spend decent coin on a HB, so halves are fine.

Forwards looking better although could do with another decent recruit.

So, spend in the backs.

Next week if Moylan is still out:

Kennedy
Katoa
Tracey
Ramien
Ronnie
Metcalf
Trindall

But I’d like to see this from next year if possible:

Kennedy
Katoa
Lomax
Ramien
Ronnie
Nicho
Trindall

(14. Tracey/ Metcalf) they can fight it out or injury backup

What’s this obsession with Lomax coming here?

I’d certainly take him but why is he being included in our team for next year?

Yeah I know he’s having a little spat at the Dragons but doesn’t mean he’s coming here.

Yep, the difference was T. Trbojevic. Take him out and we probably win.

It's a shame we don't have a player with his 'X' factor.

Yet made the most metres and post contact metres out of all our forwards.
Uele made 4 less metres off 3 less runs and half the minutes. Williams made roughly
Half the tackles all our other forwards made, they were gassed because we never had the ball and when we did , players like Jack dropped it. All Our forwards got smashed . Williams might make metres but he makes too Many mistakes.

In 2019, 2020 yeah he was making errors but he's making **** all errors and been one of our best forwards all year. To suggest he's making too many mistakes this tells me you are the opposite of a Sharkstragic.
