Can we start a thread for next years squad. Who we got signed up so far?

Gordon
Ryan
Wright
Carney
Robson
Gallen
Lewis
Graham
Heinington
Faffita
Gibbs
De Gois

That's only 12 players. Lot of recruitment and retention to do.

I would say its not going to happen. Would have been signed weeks ago if they were serious about keeping him.
If it doesn't then I suppose my dream of seeing a Sharks team actually win a premiership in my lifetime takes a dive. We've lost Bukuya and Townsend, Frizzell last year, everyone on here reckons Mills is crap, what is the point in having a junior league in the shire? According to everyone we need to keep importing players. Most of whom don't give a rats about anything other than money.

Having followed this team since I was a young bloke, the times we've been successful is when a local is groomed for 1st grade. Peachey is a local product and needs to be priority. If he's not then Flanno and the management are not doing their job.

Why re-sign a young exciting junior when you can re-sign someone like Toops or recruit a 30 year old such as; Reni Matiua.

Its not about local juniors its about money Flanno 's pay check his contract is up next year so is he going to be offered more money for coaching a team that finished 8th with local juniors or in the top 4 with players from where ever

In your head, rent free
tbh, we have no juniors.

our nyc team is second last. not sure how the younger ones went but we didnt win any comps.

the last remotely promising junior we had was luke pickerd who stopped growing.

mills full of promise but no real chance to hang onto a spot. still better than pom.

chad. meh, but after sunday, he deserves a shot

He's gotta get to the top four. Most great teams have a mixture of both.

It was pretty obvious that Chad, Mills and Peachey were the only worthwhile juniors we've brought through for a long time. Yep our NYC team went back to sucking. That's one of the reasons I'm gutted, we should hang on to the few juniors we do produce.

I knew we had a lot of players off contract, but seeing the list shows that we should have a heap of room to move in for retention and recruitment.

I hope we take a look at some younger guys and dont just fill all the gaps with guys like Poore, Toops and Robson.

forget my previous posts on the board issues for now.

looking at this objectively, the top 25 squad for next year does not appear like it is going to contain any local juniors (born & bred locals..).

For me that is the beginning of the end for a community based club, especially the Sharks who's only relative "success" occurred when we were chock full of locals bleeding for the emblem. It is ripping the soul out of the club in my opinion.

Surely people should be as mildly outraged about this as other issues in recent times! (where's that stupid bb&w army now??)

I read a recent article that said the club was trying to re-connect to the community and the juniors and I applaud this.

BUT is that filtering down to the head coach or is he now free to run his own race because he is seen to be untouchable?

OR is the new board just all talk and no action?

A lot of work to do. When are we likely to hear some good news on this front? Everyone is plundering our juniors and we haven't even got a first grade side if that's all we have. What is the latest? Come on all of those people who are having a go at Peachey for leaving.
