2013 NSW Cup Team

So I was sitting at home looking at the 2013 squad thread and it hit me. We're not only going to have serious positional competition in first grade, but in NSW Cup too. If we remove the definite first graders from the squad list then we are left with:


Outside Backs

- Nathan Stapleton
- Stewart Mills
- Ricky Leutele
- Daniel Moroko
- Sosaia Feki
- Nathan Gardner
- Ratu Raitini
- Matthew Wright

One of these players will join Gordon, Ryan, Wright and Pomeroy in first grade and another 5 will be selected for NSW Cup. This means two of these players will miss out all together. Serious competition in the backs department and I haven't even considered the storm players coming in.


Halfs:

- Jeff Robson
- Chad Townsend
- Sam Duggan
- Penani Manulalealii

One (Robson or Chad) will join Carney in firsts and the other will be partnered with Manulalealii in the halfs. I suspect Duggan will go to the bench as secondary hooker. There is also the possibility of Maurice Blair being added to out squad by the Storm.


Second Row:

- Sam Tagataese
- Tyrone Peachey
- Jayson Bukuya
- Anthony Toupu
- Hayden Peacock

This is our weakest part of our NSW Cup side IMO. One will go up to firsts leaving no real competition for the four of them. Luckily Storm usually give us a second rower or two and Fa'aoso would make this backrow look a lot better.


Front Row:

- Jon Green
- Mark Taufua
- Solo Alone
- Jake Hawkins
- Rodney Coates
- Ben Ross (possibly)
- John Morris (possibly)

Front row is looking very strong which is needed as Storm rarely lend us a forward.



My Side

If I was the coach of NSW Cup and I had to pick a squad I would go with: (excluding Storm players)

* I'm not trying to offend anyone (e.g. Picking Townsend) I'm going off the team I think Flanno will select for firsts.

Gosh I'm getting excited for NSW Cup next year. We're just so blessed with depth.

Take the backline for example. Even with the side I selected we have Matt Wright and Sosaia Feki (Both VERY capable NSW Cup players) on standby.

Also I'm more concerned with our backrow seeing as the Knights snapped up Fa'aoso from the Storm and they haven't signed a replacement for him... Meaning they haven't signed a player to give us haha.

We have nothing to worry about with our backrow stocks.

We will have one of toops/bukuya along with peach, peacock and the new guy tupou sopoaga who is the cheap option to frizell and probably an upgrade on hasson.

We also have taga and tafua who can play prop and backrow, aswell as anyone we get from the storm.

But you were wrong about Taufua. You said he was a crap signing when he wasn't, In fact, you were praising him in the Taufua thread. You even said he would in most teams top 17 which kinda contradicts what you said what with the whole "he's ***** and always will be *****". If it bothers you that much you can look through all my posts and find every prediction that I made which was completely wrong and laugh at me about it.
