I agree, I thought that was a rather racist article tbh.

It was a generalisation of epic proportions.

Tommy Bishop our star halfback of the 70's is English and he wasn't a dirty player, same goes for Ellery Hanley and Martin Offiah at Easts and Wests respectively.

I don't believe Garry Schofield was a dirty player for Wests either, although now he is the most outspoken former player over there.

Quality article by Slothfield. He must of watched NRL360 last night, heard the comment about The English being dirty, wound up some qoutes & away he went.

Gareth Ellis also didn't come across as a dirty player. Played with controlled aggression I thought.

Also

Ben Barba last night said on Sterlo he wants to go to Brisbane

So Broncs to get Barba. Where is the justice in that? How do they fit him in under their cap. 17 Free to air TV games this year, one team city. The NRL is not a level playing field. It is all about the Broncs. Hate the Dogs but I hope they dig their heals in on this one or make the Broncs pay massive overs and therefore have to release some of their young talent.

We need a draft or a better system. The current one sux.

How good are these classic games on fox. Penrith vs wests from 1991. The MMI replay after each try, Penrith sponsored by dahdah uniforms.

They are also currently sitting 11th.

Just because a player decides to move due to family circumstances does not mean the whole system is broken. Especially when it hasn't even happened yet.

I reckon you'd be hard pressed trying to find a competition anywhere in the world where the competition is as even as the NRL and where the top couple of teams change as often.

You say all that, but cough at the idea of Sharks being relocated. I hate that idea, but the comp cant sustain more than 16 teams right now, and with the problem that you mention, 1 team cities it really emphasises just how congested the sydney football system is. HOWEVER its a nationally telecast sport (internationally even) so the teams location should have no bearing on sponsorships etc.

As for Barba, its the same as Milford, unfortunate circumstance but the club isnt the bad guy, Bulldogs and Raiders are well within their rights to tell them, sorry ya sticking out the contract, or even say, we will release you, but want another season out of you first. I think thats a fair compromise. Sounds like Barba is a needy prick if you ask me, I think he is more about following his ex than following his kids

Yeah don't have an alternative, but agree- also those 3rd party payments seem suss comparing rich to poor clubs.

I don't understand what you are getting at there mate. I commented on my perception that the Broncos receive all of the lift ups in the game in regard to media exposure. Media exposure brings sponsorship. Free to air media exposure allows everyone to see their jersey and know who they are. I can't afford Foxtel, and my club has had three games on free to air TV. In a congested market that is not a level playing field. Now the Broncs are set to build their empire around the games most dynamic and marketable player. More lift ups on a loophole.

According to media reports, Barba's desire to leave will see him earn more at the Broncs as soon as he starts. They have offered him more money. Because he is claiming compassionate grounds the Bulldogs will get nothing from this except more money in their cap. Now like most on here, I hate the Bulldogs but if this happens to them then it could happen to any other club. It is just plain wrong.
Barba needs to be exposed for what he is and for what he reportedly has been up to in his personal life.
I still can't fathom how Wan#ers like Barba and Thurston have got away with the crap the have been up to yet we have been bashed from pillar to post for any little misdemeanour the media can find.

I just upgraded Feki to Super Simmo in my supercoach. That's the state of the Sharks' outside backs.

What do you think Jimbob?

I tipped the bunnies but was cheering the wee eagles for some reason.
The 1 sided penalty count to the bunnies didn't help them.
