If additional time has to be played, make it extra time of 10 minutes so the opposition has a chance to respond. Everyone knows in golden point that both teams are going for the field goal but for the past 80 minutes it doesn't enter a team's mind. It becomes a completely different game.

I like the idea of combining the two competitions and having some regional teams as Slide mentioned would vary the comp for sure. The idea of promotion and relegation interests me but I don't know how clubs from the second tier would cope in the NRL.
