4m is a high number but not when looking at an NRL players salary over their lifetime. He is only 22 so could have another 10-15 years playing time.
If playing for that long and at current minimum wage he would make 1.2m - 1.8m. I don't believe he would have been on minimum now let alone for the rest of his career however long that may have been. Could have easily made that if playing for another 12 years at $350k a season.
He could argue this incident has prevented him from wanting to continue that line of employment and has caused him to miss out on potentially that amount.
Would hate to be the bulldogs right now. I think he probably has a good case here.
