Dale can sit in the coaches box and wait for his call up like Moylan last year

Dale was always a culture and standards signing as much as for his onfield contributions so I’m hopeful he’s been worth his contract regardless.

But yeah, tough to squeeze him in.
Play some cup as the chance will come and we want him fit

Definitely a tough one. I think a fit Finucane definitely belongs in the Sharks 17.

I'd say send Dale to the Jets for one game and then probably Kaufusi out, but he really doesn't deserve to be dropped.

I still don't think Hazelton over Kaufusi is an obvious selection - despite Tommy's try-scoring effort yesterday. Tommy is providing a lot of impact and higher work rate but Oregon has tighter ruck defence, is much better at winning the tackle, and brings other elements like a tip-on or an offload which Tommy doesn't have in his game (yet).

One thing I would definitely keep the same is having McInnes on the field any time Hazelton is on. Tom is much more effective running wider off Cam than one off the ruck, and nobody else runs that play a swell as Cam. That might mean keeping Tommy as the starter but winding back his minutes to ~35.
Might be a case of “horses for courses” here depending on who we play

Yeah. Fair call.

I think the thing with Kaufusi is that you get "more of the same" as what you get from Rudolf, whereas Tommy brings a point of difference in that he can play a few different roles and can also tackle his freckle off for long periods.

This might be unfair on Kaufusi though, since he hasn't really been called upon to play the "go nuts for 15 minutes" role at the Sharks. He is definitely a very good "15 either side of half time" player and as we've seen lately he can play a role as a solid if unspectacular starter.

Probably a good call with all his past injuries etc. The bloke has nothing else to prove and he isn't the kind of player that could change his style to protect himself.

He has two gears - on and off.

And we'll probably never know just how valuable his off field contributions have been over the last couple of years.

Assuming he is retiring, plenty of players would stick it out in his position to take the coin.

Shows you what a team focused guy he is.

Well good on him, my opinion of him has gone up further.

Would be a very tough call, but if you see him around Cronulla with his family, I think also the right call for him.

Hopefully he still gets a medical pay out of his contract, but the money stays in our cap.
