Too much playing dragging cowboys

Think Townsends contract is okay - def an overpay but they did what they had to do.
Should smoothly transition to Dearden in 7 next year.

Chad at Cows has won more finals than we have since he left so while we weren't and still aren't disappointed to see the back of him, contract has so far worked out okay for Cows

JT13 contract... well I don't think anyone will be shocked if that doesn't smoothly just roll through the full 10 years without anything happening or it being questioned a bunch.
Could probably also say that JT3 was providing more than his contract value in some of those years.

Townsend is to Cows as Dale is to Sharks.

I could actually see Dearden staying at 6 and Clifford being mentored into a Chad-style 7. Talk, kick, and get the ball to the other guy.

Chad was carried. Again. Obviously.

Feels like JT had been questioned a lot over his time. Not really due to any fault of his own

Cody Ramsey apparently confirmed out for '24
And bulldogs are chasing a souths prop who tore his acl , the bulldogs forum are barely lukewarm on him

Dragons can't take a trick. What's that now? 4 or 5 young guys rules out since Christmas?

I guess the tier 2 cap going up helps, but I wonder if the next time they are at the table the teams are going to as for cap concessions when players are ruled out for an entire season.

Seem to recall Chad was our " premiership winning " half back . Been quiet a few before & after in the NRL that don't share that accolade .

I think they have already asked for cap concessions on Ramsey. Was out all last year as well. Has some chronic blood disease or something. Might not be blood but something like that.

Bowel issue

They likely get the same exemption they got last year
They have to still pay him but it doesn't count against the cap on the provision they use the money only for a 'like for like' replacement.
Seems pretty reasonable

What if Corey Allen was the like for like replacement though. Can they get a second exemption?

And if that guy gets injured?

I’d say no, if your replacement has a normal RL injury bad luck, like if anyone else gets one. Not my call though

Yeah it’s a bit like the swans and Buddy. You only had to be at the scg when he kicked goal 1000 to see that some players are about more than titles. They attract fans, media, other good players, merch sales the list goes on. Part of the tigers problem IMO is it been so long since they had “that guy”. The sharks have been ok in that area too. We had Gal, now we have Nicho.

There aren't rewrite that many teams now without a 'that guy', huh. Tigers.... Api falls a bit short. Bulldogs... JAC I suppose. Dolphins, not quite, but they will. Probably from one of their current squad.

The salary cap today means every team had the cash. Some don't have the appeal though.

Surprised more of them don't have the same. I'd have the sh*its if I was there

Nuh. Allan got injured after starting and injuries are injuries.

Cody Ramsay has a complex chronic illness. U.C. Some of you might have relatives with it. He's had large parts of his bowel removed. Be Superman to ever come back.
