Brisbane had five players out on Origin duty against the Warriors and got the chocolates.
We need to be at our best to win this as the Broncos always seem to get under our guard even at home.

Big couple of weeks coming up with Brisbane and Melbourne over the next two games. Let’s see if we can actually hang with the top 4 contenders.

Crowd needs to turn up for this and manipulate the ref! Broncos always get the 50/50 calls. Need to nullify this

Hate playing the Broncos, but realistically we couldn't have timed it any better. Coming off the bye round and at home, It is a game we should be able to win if we are a genuine top 4 side. Competitive games against the Broncos and Storm will tell us a lot more about how we are actually going at the moment and if we can be competitive in the finals.

I reckon the crowd will be up for this. First late Saturday game since Round 1, first game at home in over a month, and everyone hates the Broncos (particularly around Origin time).

Not the current Top 8. But Roosters were in the top 8 after Round 6, we beat them in Round 7 to knock them out of the 8.

Eels I think ; but this is why I’m still very critical of the team set-up of how we play with Moylan in the halves

No point going to side to side and being all attack when if it comes to the top sides we get embarrassed, need to unlock and better other parts of the team

Yeah I maintain we need to sort out errors out and build pressure against top sides. Will see if they have learnt this or not over the next couple of weeks.

We've only played four of the current top 8 to be fair.

Yep I've been on the same page as this as well. I just don't see us having the right game to beat the best teams at the end of the year.

We desperately need to reduce our errors and improve our goal line defence and learn to build and maintain pressure. If we can sort that out then we will be a force. Otherwise we will continue to blow away bottom 8 sides and then lose against the better sides.

Not sure the eels have actually been sitting in the 8 at all this year
They started with a bunch of losses so I don’t think they even made it

Yeah agreed. It's my only criticism of Nicho. He doesn't play patient. He's all out attack and sometimes we need to take the option to build some pressure.

*Not that it's just his responsibility, the same can be said for the whole spine.

Gonna be a ripper. Players gotta step up, and not leave most of our attack and kicking thru Marcia but. Brailey/Moyza and Co, gotta take a bit more attention away from him. Can't wait for this game.

True... but do they usually do that?

Nicho sits first overall for total try involvements
But Moylan sits equal 6th for total try involvements
And Kennedy sits 8th for total try involvements (equal with Reece Walsh)

No team other team has three players so consistently involved in their attack.
We'll cut Brailey some slack not being there, the highest placed hooker is JMK at 43rd

The only other teams with multiples in the top 20
Rabbitohs have 3rd, 5th & 14th
Eels have 10th, 13th & 17th
Manly have 2nd & 16th
Broncos have 8th & 18th

(all above I have included only players with 5+ games, except for JMK is true overall)

As for kicking, it is true Hynes does a lot of that for us
Brailey ranks 16th of hookers with 5+ games (although 12th for kick meters)
Moylan ranks 11th of 5/8ths, but 16th for average meters
Hynes sits 3rd for average kicks, right up there with SJ, Cleary, Townsend, DCE, ARey, Moses, Boyd, Hastings, Burton, SOS, Fogarty, Sam Walker, Hunt... because it is pretty common for a sides main half to kick a lot.

So yeah Brailey and Moylan could move themselves up the averages a little by taking 3 or 4 more kicks between them, not sure Brailey/Moyza and co can do much more in terms of taking attention away from him in attack without actively trying to wind back our best players involvement.

Yeah, but statistics, so you couldn't possibly derive any info from this post
