I rate him but that's pie in the sky money... He could possibly be that good, but we've hardly seen enough of him in the 6 recently to know. He also tends come come off as a bit of a dick, even though I think the Tigers have treated him (and most of the squad) like crap.

Still... fair play to him for trying to squeeze the Tigers. It's a roll of the dice that has an even money chance of coming off. If it doesn't and he moves on he'd just have a laugh about that amount with the clubs he's talking to.... they'd get it.

Outside back depth in the top 30 with Miller gone and Ikuvalu out for the season will be...

FB: Kennedy, Dykes, Tracey, Hiroti, Taukamo
Wing: Katoa, Mulitalo, Tracey, Hiroti, Taukamo
Centre: Ramien, Talakai, Tracey, Mulitalo, Hiroti

They need to add at least 1 outside back to the top 30. Maybe 2.

Iro is the obvious one people will think of, but I reckon what the squad is really lacking right now is a genuine 3rd option at wing to replace Ikuvalu. I think they need to either upgrade Stonestreet or add a cheap, experienced depth winger from outside the organisation (e.g. swap Miller for Hymel Hunt).

I'm pretty keen at this stage to stop making Tracey Mr Fix-it and let him focus on a position.
If he is wing or centre bring someone in or up depth chart for whichever position he isn't.

Probably also bump Ronnie down centre depth as unless you wanted to run him at centre and bring Taukamo in I'd rather not switch Ronnie for the sake of which position Tracey or Hiroti play.

So I guess I'd rather us move towards something like

FB: Kennedy, Dykes, Tracey, Hiroti, Taukamo
Wing: Katoa, Mulitalo, Tracey, Hiroti, Taukamo
Centre: Ramien, Talakai, Iro, Hiroti, Tracey

Or have him as 3rd centre if that's what Fitz prefers and have someone new at 3rd wing if possible.

I would have been all for Tracey focusing on a position but I think that horse might have bolted at this stage of his career.

What stage of his career is he in? Like the middle maybe? Not uncommon for players to make positional switches mid career

900k is ridiculous but that's negotiations for you.

Knocking back 700k to stay at Tigers who have moved him to centre etc isn't a bad option if he can get 750k somewhere else. His injury record is a concern though.
He's not even worth 700k, that's the funny thing.

I think as far as playing NRL is concerned it will probably hurt him more than anything.
Yeah, it's the age old dilemma... would he improve enough to be a genuine starter if he got a decent run in a specific position? I just don't think he'll get that chance now.

It is pretty amazing to think that he was an off-season away from our starting fullback though... increadible how he's been able to sustain his enthusiasm and workrate in the face of so many near misses on a gig. Plenty of blokes would have sooked and thrown in the towel by now.

I just don't think he's good enough to be a permanent starter. He's a Mr Fixit really and that's fine, plenty of blokes would like to be playing NRL.

We should have a look at Lafai after the way he's played in this WC.

The stage where he's been unable to lock down a spot at half, fullback, centre, wing or on the bench in the last 4 years (or this year coming you'd expect). If he's another year away from a starting spot he'll be 28 1/2, competing with a group of highly touted, first grade blooded players coming through.

Look, i'm not saying it won't happen. There haven't been many here with more man-love for Tracey than me. It's just pretty hard to see how becoming a first choice starting player is going to happen.

What position do you see him switching too? Lock? I think he's had a crack there as well!

Was fast but thats about it. Defensively hes not up to NRL standards.
Would be 3rd choice fb behind Kennedy and Dykes and proved he isnt a winger.
If Knights want to give him the 1 jersey so be it, and good on Sharks for not standing in his way.
But think he'll be found out massively

If bad defense is what you are after you will love Will Kennedy - Miller had issues too ofcourse but I didn't see him go out of his way to not make a tackle or play with the post padding

We will be ok without Miller but if Kennedy doesn't sort some of his issues out our fallback is a very promising but also very green Dykes

He is to the Tigers

Even the plumber they have to pay overs to work there

Doubt Tracey was ever a real consideration or option at FB, especially after some bad trials. Think it was more a case of giving Kennedy bit of a shove

Depth winger at this point behind Ikavalu

Defence at fullback is more than making tackles. it is also organising defence. Will is good at organising defence. He just needs to learn to tackle.

LOL at Tigers

Now they have Klemmer/Ofahenguae/Utoikamanu/Twal. No fullbacks, no halves signed beyond this year (all in on getting Moses and Brooks it seems) and only one good outside back who wants to play in Melbourne.
