Rubbish. Salmon kicked a bloke in the nuts & was charged. Weak act called out. Fire up, Rick. Bit un-pro but **** it, stop sanitising everything in the game.
It was unprofessional on Ricky’s behalf as the leader of the club. He should be able to regulate his emotions better than that. Having said that, it was pretty ****ing funny and I’m sure Salmon will live to fight another day

You'd pay him to do nothing? Can I piss you off in any way and get that deal?
I didn't say how much. Peanuts or thereabouts would be a fair deal as far as I'm concerned.

However, in a perfect world, he signs somewhere else and gets smashed by Talakai or Ramien everytime he gets the ball.

Yeah, think I will go the latter as well. I'm neutral on the kid, don't wish him any great successes or failures, he's not even yesterday's news anymore and I have zero interest in bringing him back into the fold. If he turns out to be someone else's superstar so be it. No shortage of honest young blokes willing to do the actual hard yards to earn a sharks jersey and it will mean more to them than it does the bloke who cheat coded his way to it.

He’s blowing up about something a 12 year old did - 10 years ago.

That’s not sanitising the game, it’s punishing a little bitch that threw his toys out of the cot because he’s footy team lost.

So fine him and move on. Suspending coaches? What bullshit.

Is there a rule about opposition coaches giving players ****? No doubt it's frowned upon. NRL will just file it under disrepute

Nah mate, I disagree. They’ve fined him over $100k and he still carries on like a pork chop. Coaches need to be held to higher standards.

I’m fine with it. It draws a line in the sand.

Could you imagine Fitz, Bellamy or Robbo carrying in like that? Stuart is a f..ing sook.

He’s just said he was a dick as a kid and he’s a dick now, in different language.
It’s not like he’s said he spent every waking moment worried about something Salmon did as a kid.

While he shouldn’t have said it, it is hilarious so I’m glad he did.

No, and I'm very glad it wasn't our coach. I'm not saying it was right I'm just saying well probably it's funny and I have always thoroughly enjoyed a Ricky blowup and its been a while.

And Ricky didn't just target the kid because of something a decade ago, the kid did something to get Ricky's attention and remind him of something a decade ago.

Falling is largely irrelevant.

Look at Ramien's charges, onus is on defender not to make forceful head contact. Will be judged even harsher if it is shoulder than a hand flinging out.

What should he have done differently? Had the control going into the tackle to not knock a bloke into (but perhaps also out of) next week.

Per burgess' example look how far out Sims has his shoulder level with Tracey's head - what is the likelihood of a good outcome from that position, especially with a man beating him to first contact.

good example and glad to hear the boy is all good
On falling being irrelevant, it’s worth pointing out that it is specifically mentioned in the junior rules.

Any contact above the armpits is a penalty BUT if the ball carrier is falling/diving, shoulder contact is permitted IF the tacklers arms are pointing down (i.e. he is attempting to wrap the body).

Since falling players are mentioned in the rules at that level, it’s probably something that is on the radar for a tweak in the overall rulebook.

Looks like the Dream Team are back for Warriors/Dogs... not to mention Klein gets Roosters/Cows.

Must have learned a lot in his week off.
