I do wonder how much of last week, both physically and emotionally had an effect yesterday?

After the last 2 Qld games, I'm not looking forward to this week!
I agree , they looked leg weary from the go , i think that and the heat and humidity took it's toll fairly quickly , then when the Raiders got rolling we just couldn't respond . With 20 mins to go some of the forwards were completely gassed , some were all but staggering back into the defensive line . Just like a racehorse sometimes you just don't know how they are till they have raced , always easy after .

I don't understand how we play 80 minutes of football trying to go too wide all the time while being dominated in the ruck
Not the first game we've had the issue in either. Fitz needs to address this properly at training with all players.

One of the ways you can help turn around losing the ruck is with some clever kicking. But our best kicker was playing fullback and only did 4 clearing kicks. Needed him to get in and put a nice early one in (with team expecting it and great chase) turn their forwards around and try pin them back in their end... probably just give away a penalty and let them out anyway.

Moyza nearly hit a 40/20... no points for nearly but would have been useful if it went over. Trindall kicked from inside 40 and it couldn't have landed further from a sideline

Toure right Bort (re playing out wide). Especially after the Warriors game where all week they were criticised for doing just that.

We would have reviewed that game pointing out as much.

Im genuinely worried for our season at the moment
We started off in opening rounds (not withstanding the rnd 1 loss) with so much potential but last few weeks with low energy below par losses against Broncos and Raiders, plus 2nd half fades against Manly and Storm definitely showing us where we truely are as team.
Add into that Suspensions for Kennedy and Ramien stretching our backline stocks, plus a mounting front row injury criss with Fincabe, Williams and Uele out - i think we're in a bit of trouble.
Yep.

Think Newcastle after 2 from 2.

Besides the fact we just can't seem to break our Canberra hoodoo and contain thier pack.

Our attack was way to flat mostly due to Hynes not playing that typical Will kennedy role from fullback.

There was a great analyses done by Seibold on nrl.com a few weeks back about the play we run where once it gets to moylan (fro examle, also occures on the opposite side) we generally have a tight group of 3 in support out wide (Kennedy, Talakai and Ronaldo). They stay in tight and fan out once an option is chosen. On sunday we were flat and spread out.

Hynes played some hybrid role of fullback and roaming half which kinda disrupted everything as he chimed in flat in the line too much at 2nd and 3rd reciever.

Obviously Trindall did not play a great game and probably brought a distrust from Hynes.

We also lost our key kicking game out of trouble, both Trindal and Moylan dont have the metres in thier kicks and all our kicks landed in front of canberra's back 3, we never turned them around.

Furthermore Hynes is much more of a halfback then a fullback (contrary to our pre season fears of him acclimatising to halfback). He has little punch returning the ball.

Going forward we need Hynes back in the halves, it would take more then 1 week to adjust to Hynes at fullback and trinall in the halves which is pointless since Kennedy is back in another week.

We would be better served playing any of Tracey, Dykes, Miller or Metcalf at fullback next week.

Well, we found out what happens when we have two kickers...

So the Raiders player who hit Dale's head with his shoulder and got sent to the sin bin didn't even get cited? Unless the NRL website is wrong.

Moylan copped a fair whack across the chips too, not even a fine for either hit

nothing was done. play on

yet in other games some players get pulled up others don't - messy
NRL never gets it wrong though, can never question them

Raiders could have had two more players sin binned and we could have had another 10 penalties, we were still not going to win we where horse siiht .. plan and simple
Dust off move on all be it with a foul taste still in our mouths.

Nothing would of helped us. We were lost and in shambles.
