Although it makes it even more confusing that a guy with a performance related clause that is under pressure and has a halfback doing jack would not give a guy who is performing well in NSW cup a shot?
I would presume no one at the club or any fans would crucify him for trying something...
Something along the lines of
Stay out of trouble we give 350K next year
Stay out of trouble and we make finals we give you 400k next year
Stay out of troubles and we win the comp we let you put the figure on the cheque
It would be the ultimate indignity though if we went public and said yes we want him we are willing to give him a chance and we table an offer and he still signs somewhere else.
I think it will be great for the club to sign him but we are mugs if we give him anything close to the $400k figure that Kent was throwing around not for the first year anyway.
If he and his manager think he can command that kind of coin for next year they have both had a few too many...
I dont think fitting Carney under the cap would be an issue from what i understand we have a bit of cash to spend.
Unless Carney and his manager still think he is going to able to command $400k then i would change my tune and say defiantly don't sign him.
As for Toops, yes he takes a lot of...
Wow that was fun, just spent my whole lunchbreak reading last nights action.
And i am still none the wiser as to whether Carney will be a Shark next year.
The only thing i took out of that was that no-one is going to agree on whether to sign him or not. That not only goes for our supporters...
I agree with the exception of the kid from the warriors he was the best rookie half.
Any other year i would say forget Carney, but 2012 is a make or break year for the Sharks on and off the field, so do you put your faith with a clean skinned rookie with a heap of promise or a experienced Dally...
