Official THE RUMOUR MILL - Player Movement

Yeah it’s a bit like the swans and Buddy. You only had to be at the scg when he kicked goal 1000 to see that some players are about more than titles. They attract fans, media, other good players, merch sales the list goes on. Part of the tigers problem IMO is it been so long since they had “that...

Official THE RUMOUR MILL - Player Movement

The message it sends is no one owns the spot yet, which they don't. Does he need to be in the top 30? I'm not across where we have vacancies. I would give him a development contract. I genuinely want Trindall to own the 6 this year, but it's not a done deal yet. And Volkmann has so far...

I think it’s up in the air in so much as Trindall is moving in the right direction but hasn’t arrived yet. If he doesn’t deliver next year, what then? Maybe CF sticks as you say, but if he doesn’t our options are two 21 year olds or a guy who is probably better suited elsewhere in Dykes. That...

Not sure if it’s been mentioned but Volkman is facing $50k shoulder surgery, 6 months rehab. Seriously, the sharks could pay the bill and sign him for two years on minimum and he’d probably take it. That’s a very good, very cheap half for next year considering our long term 6 is still up in the air.

I’d sign Volkman with the injury. Provided it’s recoverable. For less of course.

Damn straight. A pattern of repeated bad behaviour over time is one thing, but stuffing up once no matter how badly should be something anyone can come back from.

AFB is coming here. I’m convinced of it. I just can’t see the dragons being more appealing, and I don’t think it will just be about money for him.

I like AFB coming here, even on a four year deal, because I’m concerned about the Hynes window. We did well to get one of the comps best halves here, but he wasn’t young when he arrived and he’s already two years in. He may only have three good injury free years left. May. So bring on AFB.

Do we know that for sure? The warriors need a player in return?

Yeah that’s a good point. I guess that’s what I’m seeing when I see Cleary seal games for them. They’re like the storm in that they make average players look good. It will be interesting to see how all the former Penrith guys at other clubs go this year. I’ve said before that nrl coaches are...

You need a player or players to put the game to bed if you're going to grind though, otherwise you can be beaten by some luck or x factor by the opposition. Penrith have that. I'm not sure St George do.

Someone file away my use of the word “astute” so I we can pull it out when Billy Burns becomes the official sharks whipping boy next year.

(Archive) Depth, Development and T&T Players

Billy Burns is costing us bugger all and last year he played 10 games, 9 of them for the full 80 minutes averaging 44.5 fantasy points, top scoring 67 in one round. 50 is a good fantasy average. I know it’s only fantasy but think of it as an ok bunch of stats to assess a player by which it is...
