Wow! what a great day!

I almost didn't make it to the game as I had to get off work. Thank the Lord that worked out or I would have missed what is now my favourite Sharks victory of all time.

Yeah, we've gone deeper into the finals before but not since the days of the 78 Grand Final, when I was just a little tacker of eight years old can I remember Club spirit being so high.

After all we have been through in the last ten years - and especially the last three - to come out and give South Sydney that sort of flogging was just amazing.

Think about it, South Sydney - a team with virtually unlimited finances and the swooning support of just about every Rugby League media outlet. A team that has the most third party payment of any in the NRL; and that's just the legal ones.
A team that Phil Gould took great delight in repeatedly describing as having "forgotten how to lose" during the early rounds of the season.

Well, you know what?...They got a free ****ing lesson on losing last night and they got it from US! You know, the team everyone says is a "niggly, grinding, negative" team with no point scoring ability.
How'd that "grind" feel Souffs? 28 blot until you got gifted a couple of consolation tries in garbage time.

Anyway, the feeling in the crowd with the CSSC was unbelievable. when the call went up "SHARKIES!", the reply was thunderous from all around the SFS. When the game was beyond doubt, our trumpeter fired up the Twisted Sister classic, "We're Not Gonna Take It" but the lyrics hurled at the Souths Sydney players who were unlucky enough to be near us were;

"YOU'RE NOT IN THE FINALS, YOU'RE NOT IN THE FINALS, YOU'RE NOT IN THE FINALS, ANYMOOOOOOORRRRRE!'

The big "SHARKS" Tifo got flown, "Up, Up, Cronulla!" was sung loudly and repeatedly and many more songs of victory were sung on the "Bus of Dreams" back to the Club (as well as a few beverages drunk).

The end of the night, to me was something that summed up everything that is great about our Club. Whilst having a beer in the Steve Rogers Bar, Fitz elbowed me in the ribs, "Look at that" he said.

There, in a corner of the bar was Shane Flannagan with a couple of the coaching staff, quietly watching the match replay on one of the TV's. Right in the middle of the Leagues Club with the punters. Not tucked away in some hi-tech video review facilty.

I walked past on my way out, shook his hand and said, "Congrat's mate, good job"

"Thanks", he said, "but the jobs not done yet."
****ing great post.

Everyones opinion, this may have already been discussed so sorry if it has but what was everyones opinion on Kearys no try call on the obstruction? Was it a try or an obstruction? IMO I can clearly see Fifita taken out & also Gordon I think it was so I think it was the right call but just called later then it should have been.

This post is tops but this is my favourite part. I thought that they were singing "we're gonna win the finals" but figured out what it was eventually. Having an absolute ball as we gave it to Souths players. They damn well would have heard us, which makes it even sweeter.

Great day was yesterday. In fact I wish I was there right now :)

Yep, I thought it was too, dicey at best. But I guess the on field ref called try so hard to overturn it.

no biased from mine, and i am a keen wade basher, but he grounded it

it was dicey, but it was grounded. his hand was on the side of the ball

and considering the try's they have awarded to radrarararararadra, that was clear cut

It was two obstructions at least.

gordon, robson and fifi

im still arguing with south's derricks over this

they are throwing so much salt i could almost have a tequila party

It is definitely an obstruction on Michael Gordon. I think it is on the Fox Sports website, they highlight the player, I think it is Jason Clark, moves across and intentionally bumps Gordon out of the way. I'll try to find the video.

Yeah I saw a replay of it on Foxsports, I could clearly see Gordon get bumped, Fifita fell aswell pretty sure it looked like he got bumped just as keary was right in front of him.

The pocket ref was going to call the obstruction but let it play out. Bad luck if we caught him with 5 to go.

bad luck if Feki or someone tore a hammy in the chase.

I wish someone would just make a call. Same with Holmes last week

Everytime our tries go up to the video ref I always have that nervous feeling they will overrule it even if you can clearly see a fair try in it! Bloody Hayne & Patten always try to find any small reason to overrule us!

still think this was the side to run out with. We got lucky last week because the bunnies killed us the first 20 minutes

We were way to small up front to a big cowboys pack. Flanno ****ed up here imo.

When we dominated teams earlier on in the year we were playing with a bigger team. Our bench was tiny tonight and in finals against teams with bigger packs we don't stand a chance.

Not saying this is why we lost because it's far from it but we struggled to contain the cowboys bigger pack at the start of the game
