It was maybe 7-8 rounds ago that I started thinking "by Gavin Milers nose, we seem to have found a game plan!"
In the last few weeks, that game plan has disappeared. It could be the suspensions, a couple of injuries, Gal needing to keep his metres up... Any or all of these seem to have made us forget what was a winning structure. So I thought I'd try to jot down a few points I'd remembered, and see if you guys could fill in the gaps to create.... The Perfect 80 Minutes (I'm hoping Al Pacino will play Flanno in the movie adaptation).

Okay, let's crank start the engine and kick off...

Minutes....
1-15: it's all about field position. Our front rowers bust their collective arses to get us the ascendancy. It's 110%, full steam ahead grunt on grunt mayhem.
16-30: we're in decent position. Graham runs raids down the left flank, with centres and Feki in tow. This is Feki scoring prime-time. If there's nothing on and were 30 out, it's a grassing kick into or just short of the in goal. If we're close to the line, Ennis to Lewis.
31-40: its the Bird and Val show. Carve them up when they're fatigued.
41-50: more of the same as the first 15.
51-65: Fifita, you're on. In our golden run, this is where Fifita carved them up, setting up or scoring tried at will.
66-80: made for Barba.

This was pretty much the plan for those half dozen games where we had our **** together.

What is your blueprint for The Perfect 80 Minutes?

I think we are on constantly beating teams in key metrics but can't land the knock out blow.

what i want to see is us tire the other side out, then put those couple of tries on mid-second half.

Id love to go into the 65th minute or there abouts 18-20 up, and put that 1 last try on to crush spirits.

The last smashing i saw (forget the tigers game cos we let them back in) woulda been vs Warriors at the start of last year where we put 30 odd on them and they got a late try only

Was that the game where Fifita scored on the fly?

Yeah, or current plan is to get everyone exhausted, then hope one of our guys falls over the line for a four point victory!
