If we make the GF this year can we get a bunch of young ladies to make sexual assault allegations against the opposition's key players early in the week?

no, they would be able to play through sexual assault claims

say they swore at them at maccas

the nrl will bring in the indonesian firing squad

Talk that he'll be banned until the gf in that previous article.

That'll do a good hijack job of any positive media that could come out of us actually making the grand final. No doubt it'll turn into being about the return of the evil Mr Fifita.

Its not a conspiracy against us. In 2013, they appointed us a CEO, they could have, IMO, at that point come in and said 'nup thats it, you useless pricks enough is enough we are taking over' (as they did with others obviously).

Matt Johns wasnt the start, although it was an earlier incident, it didnt come out for another 7 years or something. Lets venture back over our recent history, and see where the NRL were at fault..... i cant remember any time to be honest.

Our player breaking a girls nose (who is now married to Antonio Winterstein).
NZ Sex scandal
Reni Maitua drug ban
front office indecent behaviour scandal
Greg Bird domestic violence allegation
the dodgy money donation
Gallens racist comments on the field
Gallens twitter rant
Todd Carney pissing in his mouth
Andrew Fifita road rage incident
Andrew and David Fifita ref abuse incident
oh and the 18 month investigation into banned substance use that resulted in a 600,000 buck fine, 12 month coaches suspension, possible life ban for an ex trainer, and backdated 12 month ban for players.

And all of this happened over a 6 year period of time. The NRL still havent stepped in and said you know what, **** off. Cos they wont. The know they need us. Soccer will take right over southern sydney without a few league identities.

SKD is afforded the presumption of innocence as he faces a legal battle. The allegations are serious. In that aspect the NRL can stand him down, but dont wanna be those guys IF he gets off. The NRL didnt stand down the Fifitas, we did. Whos advice that was to do so, i have no idea. We coulda been told, or Lyal could have made that decision in hope that the matter can be resolved with full focus from those guys involved, as to not take away focus from their prep for games.

I myself would think any player facing a criminal conviction should be stood down (with pay) by the NRL until he is convicted or not. This happens in other professions.

hmmmm ive been reading the posts about Fifita not entirely sure of my thoughts on the whole thing, but this post puts things into perspective for me. Some excellent points re: some of the ridiculously stupid things we've done over the years & not been kicked out of comp despite numerous calls to do so. Asada probably came close to making it the end of us. Anyway to the Fifita's,
I think they should never have allowed themselves into that situation as professional athletes. In saying that, I'm absolutely dumbfounded as to the medias reactions over this & the outcry from the general publicin comparison to the SKD situation. If they are banned for the season, we move on, we should make the 8 and then it's up to the guys playing as to how far we go . . . all the way without the twins would be a nice way to shove it up the hater's arses!

SKD named for Roosters. I'll be very disappointed if Lyle and Co don't take a stand now.

Maybe if fifita went in and said he beat his missus they'd let him play on Saturday?

It's not like he hit the guy and questionable if he even threatened him. He's clearly done something wrong but more than a 2 week ban and a fine would be just NRL grand standing at Fifitas expense.

I can only laugh, this is the biggest face palm, SMFH moment of all time, how can anyone deny media conspiracy now.. I'd easily say that if Fifita was a Rooster and SKD was a Shark (bullet dodged btw) the headlines would all be about face.

I ****ing hate this ****ing **** **** ****head of a sport atm.

Guys, our club are the ones that chose to stand Fifita down. The NRL haven't imposed anything on us, as yet.

The only people stopping us from naming him at the moment are our coach and the board. This is so, presumably, we can curry favour with the NRL. Personally, I'd say **** it and play Fifita until we knew better.

I get the feeling the club bowed to public pressure.

The club is also likely to be heavily considering our sponsors and overall brand image amongst the media **** storm - doesn't make it right necessarily but I would envisage the club making a decision they believe best protects them self now and into the medium term (nothing to do with results on the field)

No use playing him if his head is scrambled... Let's not forget some of his games last year during his contract fiasco.. He is pledging his innocents but his innocents still has our club captain saying 50k and 4 weeks... If it's 3 or 4 on the sidelines gets rid of this sorry situation so be it..
