Well, we're up to Round 20 of the 2015 season and with just seven games until the finals series I thought now'd be a good time to discuss our run home. Unfortunately the next month isn't easy.
Here's how I hope the rest of our season goes (I'm an optimist).
Round 20 - Bulldogs (A)
- A danger game this one. Playing in front of a Belmore crowd isn't going to help. To win this we'll have to muscle up if the forwards big time and we can't waste any of our opportunities in the opposition 20. Trying to shut down both the Morris twins and Rona won't be easy so our outside backs are really gonna need to communicate in defence. This one could go either way but I see us winning of some Barba brilliance.
Round 21 - Warriors (A)
- Another danger game. Warriors are in the same shoes as us. Just clinging on to a top eight position with several sides snapping at their heels. The Roosters game showed that if you dominate their forwards it makes it very hard for Johnston to create some attacking magic. Big issue is going to be field position as Townsend and Johnston can place punts between the back three all game. Unfortunately I don't see us winning this game, playing over in NZ with give the Warriors a massive boost and I reckon the Dogs game will take a lot out of us.
Round 22 - Cowboys (H)
- Big game this one. Cowboys are on fire at the moment and we've been the only team to beat them in god knows how long. Call me crazy but I reckon we'll win this one, not comfortably, but with a bit of breathing space (By about 12-16 points). This is due to three reasons. I reckon the Cowboys will be safe at this point and will take the foot of the pedal a little bit, I reckon we'll smash them up the middle and because it's at Shark Park and I reckon at this point of the season we'll get a few more folks down at Remondis to try and cheer us into the finals.
Round 23 - Storm (H)
- And for the fourth week in a row we have a big game ahead of us. Storm are a class side and have been for years, but this year there's been a few cracks in the armour. They tore us apart last game so hopefully the boys will want to get even. Unfortunately I don't see us getting even, I see Cronk having a blinder and the Storm winning 12+. Hate Melbourne, we never seem to beat them.
Round 24 - Tigers (H)
- And here it is. The annual upset against the Sharks. We always seem to take these types of games easy and we always get shown up because of it. The tigers will be desperate to avoid the spoon and they'll get the two points because I reckon we'll just turn up and expect to win.
Round 25 - Eels (A)
- This is the game that helps our for and against. We'll turn up to Parra fired up from the Tigers loss. Parra are a rabble at the moment and without Sandow they'll be easy to contain. Just get the big boys to roll up the middle and give the outside backs plenty of ball. We won't beat them, we'll flog em' 40+.
Round 26 - Sea Eagles (H)
- Manly's hopes of making the finals will be well and truly over at this point. They won't turn up to play and we'll roll through them and gain some momentum for the finals.
If my predictions are right, we'll finish somewhere around 6-8th with 30 points.
How do you reckon we'll finish the season?
