Free pies with every beer? That was clever to reward the diehard fans who showed up!

I bet Lyall Gorman had something to do with that. I am super impressed with that guy and his efforts to go that extra mile.

One of the papers said that the 3900 crowd was the lowest NRL crowd in 15 years. The club was never going to make any money from the gate with that sort of weather.

Far better to give the fans something back as a public relations exercise.

I was down on the sideline near the tunnel at the end of the game and Lyall was out there in his full suit, backslapping and hugging all the players as they came off. You could see the joy in his face and also in theirs.
Yes, he is an impressive guy and you get the feeling something special is brewing. Three wins on the trot is great but more hard work to be done for the Penrith game next week.

For what was an absolutely atrocious night, the atmosphere was great. I think the bad weather weeds out most of the "fair-weather" supporters (pun intended!) who tend to just sit on their hands unless we are winning by thirty.

What you are left with are the guys and gals who will support the team through thick and thin. For what was reported as about three thousand odd, we made plenty of noise in the second half when the teams defence was superb. Every big hit was cheered loudly and every South mistake was jeered with the same vigour.

I thought the drummers at the southern end of the ground were a great idea, they really added to the atmosphere and, given better conditions, they could really get the crowd going.

Lyall Gorman walked around the Club after the game and personally greeted every supporter there, his suit was soaking wet but he was grinning from ear to ear. Gotta love the bloke.

Yep the weather being like that depletes a family trip to the footy from 4 people to 1 or none.

If i lived in syd id be at every home game no matter what. But i dont think anyone can be bagged for not going either.

Almost 4k at the ground was a great number all things considered

I thought those drums must have been from souths supporters, I'm probably in the minority but I don't like stuff like that at sports events. Let the actual game create the atmosphere.

In your head, rent free
It's not as if they were good on the drums either, they were terrible

The kind of drumming you expect to hear on Eric Grothe Juniors album

Could still hear the famous Sharks trumpet, although he may have swallowed his fair share of rain water

Need to get Ricky Hill as the ground announcer.
