Slaughtering it in NSW cup, 100% due for a call up.
But flanno wont admit he is wrong his early round selections

big difference between nsw cup and playing the most attacking team in the comp.
should have given him a game against the titans to get a feel for the pace of the game

Thats a flanno attitude. The attitude should be let's worry about who fits the 6 jersey better - wade not a half or a half why not put him in against one of best sides in the comp good learning curve learn first hand how a good side goes about their business.

Realistically, all he'd have to do is find touch from penalties and keep it in field during general play to be our best half this season.

So you'd prefer a centre in five-eighth than someone who can get us on the front foot with his kicking game. I know theres a massive difference but we are 0-4... there is almost nothing to lose he should at least try.

if ever we should have given murphy a debut, it was against a **** titans team, not a red hot premiership favourite in the roosters

we have missed the buck on this, because if he plays against the roosters and we get drilled, the pitch fork will come out calling him **** ala penani v the dogs last year

maybe Newcastle a week later but they have great edge forwards and centres that are destroying opposition halves.

I think we failed on this one, he should have played v the titans to get the confidence up and a feel for first grade

Should've debuted last week, but we can probably agree that it's better late than never. Flanno needs to realise and admit his error and correct it by listing Murphy in the 6 today.

Said the same thing on another thread yesterday .
As a Sharks fan we can only hope and pray for 2 things .
1. He gets picked this week at 5/8
2. He has a blinder that makes him nearly undroppable .
If I see another makeshift half this week I'll loose it . Although I might cop Beale if Gagan was promoted .

Been a while since I commented on here. But had to hop and to say that I agree 100% with you Snowy.

Flanno seems to do things a week or two too late. Allong with Murphy... Holmes should been selected and played 80mins at fullback against the Titans, Bird should have been selected and been playing good minutes from round 1 etc etc

Yep I said this as well. Better to debut against the Titans who were also debuting a kid rather than against Maloney and Pearce.

Another poor coaching tactic.

And so they name Bird at 5/8 instead...

But he'll play centre.. leaving the centre to fill the unimportant, non-specialised role in the spine. You can only do this stuff when you've got a speedy, cunning halfback such as Robbo.

It will be very interesting to see what team he picks this week.the very last thing Flanno is looking for is getting smashed by the Chooks[/I]. Then he could well have more people asking for his head.

It will be interesting to see what he does, is his priority Short term or Long term or just plain old a week at a time survival? It is a hard place to be he has kind of got himself between a rock and rock.

Gotta give Flanno credit. When he says we're taking it one game at a time and focus is purely on next week, he means it. Unlike all those other winning jokers who clearly have a bit of foresight and planning.

I am reliably informed that Flanno will have Bird playing at centre this week. He is in fact trying something out of left field by having three centres and no 5/8 on the field to go with the four backrowers and one prop in the forwards.
He's an innovator that Flanno.

Flannos sick of conceding tries on the edges so he's loaded up the defence there and the prop is covering the middle 3rd on his own
