I think we need to face the fact that todd Murphy isn't going to play first grade while robbo is injury free, the whole organisation sees him as some prodigal son, even if robbo was to miss a game I'm not so sure Murphy will be called upon, you'd like to think he is first cab of the rank should robbo miss a game but I have zero faith in flanno actually picking him

Would probably play Ennis in the 7 before Murphy

He has made an early-season halves switch before when he moved Wade from 5/8 to 2nd row, and put Robbo in a few years back. Hopefully lightning strikes twice, I'd rather hold out hope on Murphy than face the bleak reality of Robbo.

Think we all would although our plane B for 1/2 and 5/8 now Nu Brown out, is not looking like it will scare any oppo team.

his game in the trials was apparently different from his game on the weekend

he was our man of the match, and was the only person who looked threatening

Was average vs the tigers (nsw cup) the other week but sounds like improvement is coming

he came on with only 20 to go in the Tigers trial so it was always going to be hard to shine

Apparently his first half for newtown that day he was very good and was the reason why newtown went to half time which such a commending lead

I want to get to a few newtown games and watch him closely, see how good his scrum feeding techniques are

You're going to travel, spending the best part of the day out watching a lower grade game to check out someone's scrum feeding technique?

A few Newtown staffers believe we will be seeing Murphy playing firsts after round 5. Was told he was struggling to accommodate to the new environment but seems to be improving game by game, unfortunately we would have to wait for Robson to get injured to see him.

This is such a great post. If you knew 2010 you would know he would go anywhere to see a group of men all huddled together

If we lose to the Titans and he's not on the park this week then I'd hope that sanity would prevail and that he would be on the field for us in Round 5. The guy was runner up best player in Queensland Cup last yearso he must be able to play a bit. Their top team beat our top team in the NSW Cup. Does our club just view the NSW Cup as rubbish? Some of the blokes who played for us last year out of the NSW Cup played better footy than some of the blokes playing in first grade currently. All I know is that season 2015 is done if we get beaten this week.

On other matters Mr Sharkiee how are the Ducks looking this year?

I have no confidence in our playing staff. They will put a second rower to play a position Murphy can cover and it wont even disrupt the team. The Ducks are playing first grade this year. We got our nines coming up and our first game in two weeks. Big challenge

Surely this guy plays against the roosters, running out with either beale or graham at 5/8 this weekend is just pure stupidity, I can see flanno moving beale to 5/8 that way he can accommodate bird in the starting side.

From what Ive seen of murphy he likes the get the ball on the outside, and with the way bird runs onto the ball I can see them forming a decent combination

murphy absolutely destroyed manly in the nsw cup, it was just our forwards didn't muscle up in defence

he needs to be given a shot in first grade as he has a running and kicking game that is desperately needed

I reckon the reason we won't see Murphy is because there is a chance he will go good. Then Flanno has to decide on what to do with Barba, he won't drop Gordon completely so would push him to wing but then you have to sacrifice either Feki or Holmes and either one is going better the Gordon.

So it's easier to wait the week till Barba is back then he doesn't need to make a tough decision and he can blame our lose on the fact the Roosters are better and Barba was suspended.
