The pressure won't help, Flanno is already under pressure and he knows it. Stressing Flanno even more won't bring him the coaching ability and positive mindset we need in a coach.
Having said that I would have no problem if he came under scrutiny and it forced him to really try something new or even pushed him out to make way for someone else

That's a good point

Maybe he needs 12 months out of the game to research and come up with something new and inventive to make our team pioneers in........oh hang on............

Maybe he should be stood down for a game instead and have his assistant coach, tell him that becauwe of poor performances on the field they are trialing replacements and if his form doesn't improve he will be forced to resign or coach the jersey fleg team

This is why I wish the NRL was like the EPL, the fans can just push a coach out, look at Sunderland, fans left at half time throwing there scarves on to the ground as they went, Poyet was gone before a new day dawned.

People power mother****ers..

I found someone on Playstation Network called 'SFlanno67'

I play a reasonable amount of PS3 but this guy puts me to shame, level 33 with 4 platinum trophies to his name. That **** takes some serious free time and dedication

'The fans choose Flanno over Irvine'.
You're kidding arnt you. What are you on? What a retarded thing to say. You come out with some pearlers, but this may just top the list.

Irvine and his board chose Flannagan. They appointed him and supported him 100%. When Stuart re-signed there were very few fans that actually wanted Flannagan to take over.
And I would argue that Irvine had the support of the vast majority of members and fans when he was in charge of the club so you're wrong on both accounts.

All true no doubt But Irvine had no dough he was keeping the place afloat doing a lot of multi tasking so some other idiots could sink the Ship a little later and give Flanno another 3 years

Samshark youre a ****ing idiot mate. After those events Flanno was found to be a drug cheat and was dropped by Irvine during the investigation. The retarded flans started bring back flanno slogans. Flanno put together a board (unity) and the fans voted them in over Irvine, then they gave Flanno a three year extension.

We're talking about ASADA now are we? Well lets get your facts straight you dope because again you're wrong.

- Yes Irvine and his board suspended Flannagan and the others.
- Wrongfully Irvine and his board then re-instated Flannagan 3 weeks later, depsite the evidence against him and unfinished investigation. I dont care about the 'bring back Flanno' signs, the board didnt care about the bring back Bird signs. It was their decision
- Irvine stuffs up and re-signs, drama continues
- A new board is formed and is voted in some months later. Irvine was long gone and Flannagan was already re-instated by that stage
- Yes the new board signs Flannagan to 3 years. Worlds dumbest decision.

The point is, your argument is flawed because it was Irvine who both hired him in the first place and then re-instated him during the ASADA saga.

Agreed, but there are always coaches looking for opportunities that dont cost a motza. Did we even explore this? Where was Mark Maguire back then?
In fact didnt Steve Roach or someone approach the sharks with a team headed by Maguire.
Anyway I am not bashing Irvine. I am just negating MB's dopey statement.

Irvine ran against Unity.
Flanno created Unity.
Flanno stated on TV that his relationship with Irvine was untenable.

If you don't think there was an Irvine vs Flanno culture you have rocks in your head.

I wouldn't mind Nathan Brown as a possibility, but I think we should go for a young coach.

Who's the bloke coaching in the lower grades at Penrith? He's from Newcastle and nearly got the top job there, before they decided on Rick Stone.

Irvine ran as an independant. He wasnt on Coleman's ticket.
Coleman was the chairman at the time and had a ticket comprised of current board members.
Coleman was unopposed and Douglas got elected with Unity.

Of course there was a Flanno vs Irvine fraction but thats not the point of the argument and your initial statement.

I think it's best to play what is in front of us rather than get into some historical blame game. That being said, the politics behind Flanno's tenure does appear to be a distraction preventing us from addressing the obvious shortcomings in the Club and team.

Garth Brennan.

If we wanted a new coach I'd like Jim Dymock to be considered. Obviously Brown too.

You'd have 8 coaches sacked a season. Fans are fickle and very reactive.
