So many defensive people tonight.

All I, we, everyone wants is a friendly site to talk about all things in there appropriate threads.

There are rules set out by the forum owners, the mods do this work on a voluntary bases, do it for the love of Sharks and football in general.
I wish I didn't have to come home from work and go through thread after thread.

If we all stick to the rules and guidelines then we wouldn't need this thread.

Lately the line has been crossed on many occasions and we have been asked to act on it.

Guys, it's not a witch hunt, just asking to follow the rules which have been set out.

That way this forum will continue long into the future.

i apologise Gil. We had this convo at a game this season if i remember correctly. And what you just said echoes that. Its one thing to be a mod, another to have to clean up the garbage in every second post.

I crossed the line ill admit that. carried on a bit. but i guess, and using Gallen as a defence here. Signing a player like Barba, bringing back the boogie, and other quality players on the way, plus the reveal of a great new addition to my jersey collection. Its a case of everyone singing in the streets that finally something good is happening to this god forsaken club.

I know we all like to have a bit of fun, but seriously some of the comments in response to this thread are kindergarten standard.

Let's just get back to the footy talk

Guys.

There have a number or reports coming in about personal abuse, language and also a lot of rubbish being posted.

Please keep to thread topics.

And no personal attacks.

Posts will be deleted and possible holidays on exile island.

And language - no need for it, also trying to avoid the language filter and you'll get one week on the sideline.

Snowman is Pro at this

We all cross the line every now and then, myself included, just a little more care is needed, that's all.

I'm dancing in the street as well, looking forward to next year,
And that jersey is another one for me also.

Cheers

I think most people rely on the language filter, I do. It's easier than hitting shift and pressing * four times.

An aside... Mrs Gil is amongst the most passionate, committed and righteous Rugby League and Sharks supporters that I know.

You try stop her from going to a game and bringing the kids.

I dare you!

Yeah I do, I apologise for being flippant. Some innocent posters don't know though I think?

This seems like a natural opportunity for everyone here to have their say as to how this forum is run that takes into account an assumed adherence to basic principles of community , respect, inclusion/exclusion, civility/incivilty ... the list goes on...

Please... tell us what you want sharksforever.com to be and become.

I'm asking for a think tank here.

Put your ideas in this thread - you're all welcome (nay encouraged) to have your say.

Just keep in mind that this forum has to operate in a legal space so that saying things like "I wanna see more pics of nude cheerleaders" or "i just wanna talk about how much coke I sniffed off a bitchez bits" will be met with instant deletion and a probable ban.

So here is your chance for your own personal activation.

What do YOU want?

It's good the way it is and I take no issue with mods trying to keep it civil and respectable - it really isn't a big deal or loss if people need to tone down the language and insults although it still needs to maintain it's sense of fun and cheekiness that is very SF. No one really want's it overly policed but I get at times that has been required.

Perhaps a new SF member introduction thread as a sticky which might be handy to ease newbies into the fold. Could also maybe include info on how to meet up with forum goers at games in person ect if they wish.
Plus gold stars for well behaved incumbents. ;)

Good idea.

Its also harder to argue and hurl deliberate abuse at someone when you've had a beer with them on the hill.

We all know what the rules are guys.

Remember this site is open to all ages and all genders.

Good post, Gil.

The personal attacks are the one thing I hate about this site, whether it be against other posters or players. It can be ridiculous at times.
