Cronulla Sharks have no culture and no values, the club has become a zoo and I’m tired of defending them
I’ve just about had enough of the Cronulla Sharks.
I’m sick of having to explain to my children on almost a weekly basis the details of one atrocity to the next.I’m sick of putting my credibility on the line by defending them every time something happens.I’m sick of boofheads like Andrew Fifita threatening to ban me for life for daring to criticise his alleged road rage and when he tweeted “he’s supposed to be a Sharks supporter.”Or Todd Carney telling me I’m barred from the Sharks dressing room for condemning him when he allegedly just stood and watched a friend assault two youngsters in Cronulla Mall — then took him to the pub.
Enough is enough.ASADA, coach and player suspensions, road rage, Todd Carney drinking his own urine, Mad Monday, topless waitresses and very serious threats to a photographer. When is it going to end? Where is the discipline? Where are our leaders and our role models? What is the board doing about it? Why is Steve Noyce allowing similar disgraceful behaviour to that which occurred under his watch in his last job at the Roosters?N o wonder it cost the Roosters a $4 million sponsorship deal with Samsung.At least they had one to lose.To be truthful, I don’t have a huge issue with the topless waitress.Footy players will be footy players. They are young men. It’s been a long year. They didn’t grope the woman or cause any harm to her. It was a private function. As an isolated incident I don’t think anyone really cares. It was stupid more than anything else after the year they’ve had.As one of my followers said on Twitter yesterday: “Why is a nearly nude woman needed to celebrate the end of the season? And, why be somewhere where you’ll probably be seen?”
But why was Carney even there? Why was our photographer threatened for doing his job? Seriously, this club has become a zoo. The behaviour of some is out of control and has been for a long time. There is no culture. And the values … well, it seems to me there aren’t any.It breaks my heart to be writing this column.I can put up with the wooden spoon because every club has a lean year.Someone has got to collect it and this year it’s our turn.
Besides they put in some magnificent performances. The comeback wins against the Broncos and Roosters, two victories over the Panthers and the golden point thriller against the Cowboys. But right now this club needs more than just Shane Flanagan back. The board should put a broom through the place and sweep out every ratbag.Start again. Only employ players and staff who will respect the jersey. Talk to the Swans about their no-******** policy and copy them. Sponsors, fans, corporates and members have had enough. We’ll be back next year like always because we love the place. We just want a club we can be proud of.

Seriously buzz, half the reason the sharks 'need defending' is because of your terrible reporting.
What happened on monday is absolutely nothing. A topless girl in a private function getting snapped by photographers, if i was the Sharks id be helping her take legal action over the photographer. What if the girls parents didnt know she did that for a job, they do now? What if its a second job and her other job sacks her? What if it ruins relationships she has? Because the media was fishing.
Noone asks Buzz to defend the sharks, nor do they care what his ugly ****ing kids feel about them. Those kids have bigger problems in life knowing their dad is an absolute piece of **** and the whole of the rugby league community thinks the same.
The club has done nothing wrong this year, they sacked 1 guy for doing something wrong, other players got suspended for something that happened nearly 3 years back, so where is the reflection on the current club? You think after Noyces comments about Carney that if a player beat up the reporter he wouldnt sack them? ****in oath he would, and given how useless the teams bean, id probably not give a **** who it was. But that didnt happen.

yeah i dont care about Carney being there, nor do i care that Carney was near an adult friend who dished out a beating on 2 other men (they were 18 werent they, so technically adults too). Why is carneys hight profile a reason to make him responsible for other peoples actions?

i love the way he talks about noyce at roosters causing samsung to leave….steggles pay up big, and carney came after the samsung deal. and noyce sacked him when he kept ****ing up.

Yes there is plenty of small instances of negative **** that happen, but the media are boosting it.
Nude girl at private function…..photographer confronted……Sharks are bad bad bad people. no……that would happen in any pub in any city in any country. The photography crossed a boundary and id have loved to see him get dropped on his arse. Just cos you carry a camera with a lense doesnt give you the right to snap photos of a naked girl at work.
The small things that keep getting reported are silly **** that no other sport has to deal with, and its not because they dont do the ****, its because they arent being tailed and prosecuted through the media. The worst things that happen in the AFL is what Ben Cousins, a few grog related incidents and a peptide scandal. Those blokes arent angels, the revolving Sharks negative headlines are being continued and they always start with 1 particular paper just because they are trying to keep the saga going.

If members of this forum can get banned from the club or ejected for far far far less. Here is a guy who walks in like he owns the place but he is also the biggest bagger of the club in every avenue out there.
Either ban him, or let him bring his kids, then take his kids shirts of them and cut them up. I dont care, they already have a **** life, Buzz is their dad.
