I've gotta LOL at the peanuts worrying about signing players with a bad rep.

Carney had a bad rep, there were a truckload of worry-warts - we signed him & all ok.

Bird earned a bad rep - we released him before his not guilty verdict (doesn't matter what the real story was) - now he carves it up for another team.

Gallen, whilst respected, is hated by just about anyone outside of the Shire & is far from a cleanskin.

I could give you 100s of examples, but the fact is every other team in this comp makes allowances for their players' faults, outrageous faults at that...

I get what your saying, but beating up your pregnant wife??? Just cannot ever forgive that.

The fact that roosters were going to let skd go to keep Moga last year excites me because skd would be easily our best centre. If he can get fit and healthy it will be very exciting to see him in our team.

Rather not give any dates people get touchy if you give a date and it doesnt happen on that exact date.
More information in the next day or 2.

I'm not related to his family, nor his wife, so whilst I deplore & condemn such behaviour, said behaviour is mutually exclusive from the subject of team signings.

Getting pissed and acting like a ******** is not on the same level as belting a pregnant woman. We're bottom feeders at the moment but I wouldn't want to support someone who not only committed domestic assault once but twice. Hey on the bright side you guys wouldn't have to deal with me any more if that happened!

Carney did have a bad rep but was also the reigning Dally M Medallist. He was worth a gamble whereas Lui is just a **** person and a **** player. Cannot be compared.

Not to mention we have a very talented young halfback within our own ranks, and some of you are talking about signing this guy? On the list of ridiculous ideas, that one's way up there.

I wouldn't give a rats arse how good of a player he is. Anyone who would beat up their pregnant missus should not be welcome here .

Let's look at this another way people saying no.

If we had such a player already on our books and he was carving up week after week in first grade, is basically our best player and we know he is the key to our success in making finals ect.
Then he gets in trouble for drugs or domestic violence are you as keen to immediately show him the door as you are to immediately say no to considering signing him?

This is not suggesting Lui would be such a star by any means and there is no right or wrong answer. I respect both viewpoints on the matter - just putting it out there
