I dont know why everyone is bagging out our players and our team, unfortunatly we came up againist a very determined and desperate Bulldogs team who were better on the day,

they didnt win that game, we lost it.

The ABC guys on radio said that Pomeroy had a strong game. What game were they watching??????

Apart from his obvious stuff ups, he did a few strong runs and broke the line a couple of times, I think.

That's what happens with him though. He absolutely butchers the sitters, but busts the line when he is not expected to. I swear, if they guy learnt how to catch and pass he would be one of the best going around. Unfortunately, it's the old dog trying to learn new tricks. Well, not really tricks as such, more just fundamentals of the game.

I wasn't able to watch the game, but from reports, it's probably a good thing.

Was actually entertaining to watch Carney spread it wide and our backs play in some space and make line breaks. Was frustrating to watch all the stuff ups but there have been worse Sharks games to watch over the years where we havn't even looked likely.

We seem much better in attack when Gal plays a simple game. He looks so much more effective.

If we can find some outside backs who can catch and pass we will win more games.

Agree

good to see someone has the same line of thinking...i agree...i however also think we need heaps more in attack and id take the risk with gardner and move gordon to the centres....

Gordon to centres is NOT the right option

Flanno won't drop Robbo or Stapo or either of the Hookers, IMO.
But it would be good next week to see...

Tafua and Peachey in for Toupou and Bukuya.
Mills in for Pom.

Toops has been going ok this year and Bakuya made some good tackles in defense but yea Boogs and Poms should still be dropped for someone else to come in

**** there are some stupid people on this forum.

True but if they all left there would be no activity on the forum

Just because you have him in your avatar doesn't mean you have to inflate his tyres every chance you get. I watched the game, Robson couldn't spread a vegemite sandwich. It was Carney creating all those chances out wide. Robson only has three passes in him. The inside ball, the shovel it directly to the man next to him and the most basic second man play.

I never directly blamed Robson for the loss but I don't actually recall him doing anything either. The problem with a halfback that doesn't create is it increases the pressure on Carney. It showed today. Whilst he looked very dangerous today he also forced some passes because he is the focal point of our attack.

You mocked my suggestion that our 7 and 9 are somewhat responsible for our error count. Fair enough because you are a simpleton. I'll expand. On a number of occasions this year Carney and our back rowers have been forced into the miracle play that has directly led to a handling error. The main reason is because we get little to no offense from our spine. If your happy with Robson then happy days. We will struggle to win another game with him and Morris in the team together.

Can't wait for your next cry about how good a fit Robson is.

I don't inflate Robbo, just defend him somewhat from all the crap that is flung his way often unfairly.
Call me a simpleton but you did not explain your post. We are not mind readers of what you are actually alluding to. You directly said Stapo and Poms stuffed up cause Robbo didn't generate enough points which brought an appropriate response from me. Your point is valid across the team in terms of not enough attacking options meaning we resort to our backrowers ect but even with Robbo in the team yesterday that should have been a win. Poms and Stapo screwed us, end of story.

Did Robson play yesterday?

Yes he was the guy that didn't butcher anything. Guess he was hard to spot amongst the rest of the team.

When we made both of those breaks I knew we were going to **** them up. The commentators were surprised when the balls were dropped. They mustn't watch the sharks very much. So predictable.

The commentators blamed it on nerves. We know the truth is that these players are not 1st grade material.

Need B.Gibbs back ASAP, is Taufua, Tagataese, Green injuried??

The sharks had no punch up the middle after Fifita and Ross went off.

Ross was really struggling to get to his feet and make a decent speed play the ball. Looked injured or fatigued. He is solid and all but this needs to be his last season with us.

If our confidence isn't entirely shot and Carney continues to fire yes we may still have a chance next week.

we blew 3 certain four pointers and 2 other movenments that may have been tries, plus our less 50% completion rate gave them plenty of opportunties.
plus carney only gifted the intercept pass because we playing catch up footy as we so far behind, because of our poor handling.
we were the better team for most of the game but we seemed to drop the ball when ever we looked like scoring.
it was not so much that they were good, but case of we were worse than them.
if was definately a case of our own mistakes beat us, rather than the dogs brillance. cause they were very average too.
on a postive note carney did create some good opportunties and i think if we can grind out a win next week and get a bit of condifence we may
to string a few wins together.

Drag Queen territory.
I only heard it on the radio, but from how it sounded we were at least threatening throughout, just couldn't hold the ball or convert opportunities.

Those two aren't rare for us, but at least we were making **** happen.

Of course I know he played. He was also the guy he offered nothing apart from some solid defence. A half back needs to do a bit more than that.

Channel 9 must be really kicking themselves for not having given us more free to air games this year

to be honest it wasnt just our dumb backs that stuffed up our forwards are just not making any yards and are soft with exception of Gallen and Fafita...

I thought Fifita was getting the ball a bit flat footed a lot of the time, still hard to stop even though he was almost at a stand-still when the tacklers first jumped on

According to todays paper our completion rate was less than 50% not many teams can claim that. We definatley have to keep Carnage and build our backline around him he is a quality player .

Does anyone know why we have spent so much on backrowers and not on backs ? pretty bloody obvious we need some.

To be fair with what we have had hanging around for so long ( ASADA ) it is bound to put any player off the game and really HARD FOR EVERYONE.

If any of our players knowingly took illegal drugs they have to go and ASAP

The good news is as a club we are still standing nearly fell over the last year or so ... finished kaput.... several times. But we are still standing still in the comp and we will work through this crap. We have a new Board with what appears to be plenty proffesianalism know how and at last some money.

It may not happen this year it may not happen now BUT.......... ..IT..WILL HAPPEN we will be a force again.

Go the Sharkies

Those two aren't rare for us, but at least we were making **** happen.

That was one of the first games we chanced our hand using the backline..obviously if you're Manly or Storm and you do it EVERY week,, it becomes 2nd nature for them,,,,Carney being out for 2 weeks hadn't helped,, as I reckon Flanno might have wanted safety and grind in the early rounds and slowly building all these NEW combinations steadily towards expansiveness..Alas, with ASADA and no Todd, it was 0 to 100 in one match..
The main thing as I see it is we lacked was confidence and faith in a relaxed execution (we as a team and a club ARE under pressure) that was an important game and nerves were abundant..... once the errors started,, the pressure and nerves increased...IF and I say IF those 2 simple schoolboy stuffs ups had led to tries.. we would been looking at a 40 smashing of the DOGS,, AS everything WOULD have stuck then (no pressure + massive belief).Gal and Graham score and even more possible breathtaking backline tries... I still reckon Pom should be on the left hand side ,,so he can pass to his winger easier and utilize his massive left foot step.. I'm not gunning for massive changes,, and happy to hopefully allow Pom and the rest some 2013 confidence (constant bagging of him and Stapo will NOT to ease pressure,if they read this forum dribble, from their so called supporters)... I haven't written off the season yet and might even check out top 8 odds ..I am up for minor tweaking of the halfback plays,,
