1967 Barbie... note the colour scheme of the packaging and the go-go boots and sparkly outfit.

Was Barbie a Mermaid?

Was the mysterious "Ken" actually Ken Kearney, Sharks Coach from 1967-1969?

Coincidence???

I think not!

...fitz where did you find this?

Awesome thread though, just shows the Sharks brand was going international from the beginning.

I'm starting a rumour that fitz and Smithers have been E-Mail buddies for some time now.

On another note... Has this thread given anyone some marketing ideas for the Sharks?

Haha I was trying to think of something smart and funny to say but you beat me to it.

Are you suggesting it's an idea to bring out Sharks dolls/figurines aimed at youngsters, collectors, Smithers/fitz?
Or dolls clothing in Sharks colours?

It was my daughter's birthday today.

She wanted a Mermaid doll for her birthday... and I told her Nana that was what she was after. This piece of brilliance is what Nana managed to find... God love Nana!!!

Miss-fitz (a Sharkies, Mermaids and Barbie fan) is stoked... I'm pretty rapt too!!!

I'd love to see a range of Sharks player action figures and Mermaid action figurettes but I fear that they might find themselves in some sort of bizarro YouTube video nasty.

I think fitz cast a seed out there in the original post.

The rest is up to your imagination, diligence, and commitment!

Happy belated birthday to the little one. :)

Some of the lego man ones are pretty funny. The 'black knight' scene from "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" is a hoot. :glasses-cool:

they should bring out mermaid barbies. They should make them for the three best cheergirls of every team.
Ours would be Chanelle, Jacqueline and Naomi.

They'd surely have to just bring out a generic one? You wouldn't be able to tell the difference between them.

A Gallen ken doll on the other hand hahahaha.
