absolutely disgusting, that is all

if ryan grant did not miss that tap in, the game would have been different

lol that prick had a shocker. He first misses what should be a given for a one legged man, then his attempted cross where instead of finding 1 of his 2 men screaming into the box he drops it on the goalie's chest and all topped off in like the 23rd minute by giving away a penalty in the box.

In saying all that though, the Jets played all over Sydney and totally out gunned them with enthusiasm for a deserving win. Not bad for a mob who played in 42C heat a week ago and had a handful of blokes unable to train.

ryan grant obviously didnt get taught how to shoot when on national duty for Aust

thats what happens when teams manage to play out of their skins against sydney, also working out sydneys tactics and sydney not having a plan B. also the bench is rubbish

A-Donk is old and is only known because of "that penalty"..1.5 million bucks marquee my arse

gan is not ready

kofi danning needs to be in the team

cole has turned to sh!t

corica although he is still all class, needs to retire

we need a guest AM, a big name who can lift the team

Manchester Citeh are top of the league! In the amount of money paid to agents in the last year. £12.5 mill.
Chelsea 2nd, Liverpool were in 3rd and Utd were down with the also rans at 15th.

Interesting comments from Frank Lampard:

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=706328&sec=england&cc=3436&cc=3436
Frank Lampard believes Chelsea trio Didier Drogba, Nicolas Anelka and Ashley Cole are the best in the world in their positions.

Chelsea are currently five points clear at the top of the Premier League and, after their 3-0 win at Arsenal on Sunday, many believe Carlo Ancelotti will lead them to their first league title since Jose Mourinho left the club in 2007.

And while Lampard believes it is "far too early" to suggest they will claim the championship, he is convinced that Chelsea have three of the world's best players in their positions.

"Didier is so strong and his all-round game is brilliant," he told the club's official website. "When he plays his best I don't think there is anyone to match him, and I want to talk about Anelka as well, because he is right up there with him.

"We have the best strikers in the world. When you have those men up front who are organised like we have, their partnership is absolutely formidable. When you are playing well and a lot of big players are fit and playing well then you go to games with a winning belief."

On Cole, he added: "Ashley has shown it for a long time. For me, for the last two years he has been completely out on his own as the best left back in the world.

"I don't know when people will learn that booing him is not the way to do it. It obviously spurs him on to put in performances like he did [against Arsenal]."

Interesting to me that he would mention Anelka before Essien, who is easily the best defensively positioned midfielder in the world.

I've been saying for a while that if Utd could have any player from Chelski, I'd have Essien. Class act.
Anelka is a bit of an enigmatic one. When Jaap Stam was holding the back line for Utd during the late 90's, early 00's, he always said that Anelka was the toughest forward to play against in the premiership. Not only was he very quick and good on the ball, he was deceptively strong and very difficult to get off the ball.

Polished Turd vs UTD at wastelands Wednesday 6th Jan. 1st leg

UTD vs Polished Turd at Old Trafford Tuesday 19th Jan. 2nd leg

It's the League Cup by the way Hitman. Sponsored by Carling. Hence the Carling Cup.

So a pretty tough group then. Germany, Ghana and Serbia. Won't be easy getting out of that one. Still, we're there at least.
The poms are already crowing about how they'll go straight through with USA, Algeria and Slovenia. They're probably right, but it would be funny to see them fall flat on their face.
If they do win it and we can snatch a second place in our group it sets up an interesting last 16 tie. :D

So is it a real huge event mate? Is the Carling Cup real important? I love the city/utd rivalry! Pitty its not for ages!

It will create a fair amount of interest because of the fact it is the two Manchester teams but, in truth, the Carling (league) cup is not as big a deal as it used to be. It's pretty much an excuse for the bigger teams to run out their kids for a game or two. Citeh will definitely go for it though, as I'm sure they want something to show for their £250 mill.
It is a true trophy and the winning team gets entry to the Europa league (UEFA cup) so it is worth winning for teams outside the top 4.
Citeh have won it twice, the last time back in 1976 - the last time they have won a major trophy incidentally - and UTD have won it 3 times, the last time being last season. :good:

hey sharksafar, our good mate Robbie Fowler backdoored it after the sydney fc v nth qld fury game, ditching the few scouser fans that waited outside the players entrance, my brother who was one of the waiting fans wants nothing to do with him now..

ah, liverpool fans, where is your god?

:fergo:

I am pretty sure Aus's group is not a group of death. I am pretty sure group g would be the group of death... Brazil (2) Portugal (5) Ivory Coast (16) Then North Korea. So stop your sooking.

He probably saw the pie van and wanted to be first in line.... :D

We do have a tough group for the WC but there's no easy games at this stage. If we can make it to the last 16 this time, it will be a better achievement than in '06.

Do mexico or russia have a chance at the world cup boys? They are paying big odds!

Mexico have a tough group with France, S.Africa and Uruguay. Not worth betting in IMO. If you want a bit of a smokie Hitman, put a little on the Ivory Coast. Their odds may have floated out a bit now due to the group they're in.

Hey guys, Ive got an epl question, I was wondering if you would tell me about tim cahill? How good is he? I see he is the face of fifa 10, is he a legit superstar over there or is he marketed so much here simply because he is aussie?

Would man u, chelsea and liverpool all love to sign him to thier club? cheers!

I certainly wouldn't call him a superstar. But he could definatly find a spot on any EPL 1st choice team.

He is a solid player. Consistent and a huge hit with Everton fans. Far off from a superstar, Probably Aus best player though.

he is a very decent player but would struggle for first team football at one of the big 4 teams

when is he off contract do you know?

I have a feeling man city will try and get him, it seems like they are trying to buy a premiership, it seems to me man u buy great kids with huge potential and develop them into the best, but man city are just trying to buy already made superstars to win the comp, it kinda defeats the purpose to me... but hey, I know very little about premier league.
