A $28.9 million redevelopment at WIN Stadium, Wollongong, will result in the ground hosting five of the first six St George Illawarra home matches next season. This will mean that St George Illawarra will not play at Jubilee Stadium until the end of May with a blockbuster clash against Parramatta.
The annual local derby between St George Illawarra and Cronulla will be played in Wollongong in round eight.
Dragons chief executive Peter Doust said the allocated funds had delayed certain club programs. "The recent funding announcement presented us with a good problem to have,'' Doust said. "The exact start and finish date for the new grandstand is still unknown at this stage but enough information was gathered from the relevant parties to enable this home game venue split decision to be made at this point.''
The Anzac Day clash against the Roosters at Sydney Football Stadium will be a St George Illawarra home-game.
Jubilee Stadium will host matches against Parramatta, Wests Tigers, Penrith, Gold Coast, Manly and South Sydney.
