I’ll go Newcastle for only two reasons. The game is up in Newy and although I think both teams will slide out of top 8 contention, I think Canberra will absolutely plummet.

Yeah I think the knights start the year strong before sliding back

Yeah I look at canberras squad, especially their spine and I really do see them struggling this year. Decent forward still but so many gaps in their squad.

Could hardly score last season. Had to grind out games. Hard to see that changing now.

However if they can keep core group and fix up their spine could becomes something in the next few years.

Whitehead moving on should help them, they really need to stop trying to sign Fifita every 5 minutes and focus on 1 or 2 pieces for the backline.

They’ll never eventuate to anything until they **** off Ricky. How that bloke is so protected there is just laughable. Very very average coach.

I don’t understand how a coach who was a half hardly runs a spine

There is a good base to build on in next few years with guys like Chevy, Strange, Timoko, Mooney, Mariota, Puru but you’re right, I’m not confident in Ricky putting the right pieces around them

Sticky's generally good at getting his teams to play tough, but sometimes the grind grinds them down and the bottom falls out of their commitment level for chunks of the season.

Raiders can get up field but still don't have much once they're there

I must be the only one who thinks Hudson Young hit Ponga in the head with his elbow. Did anyone else think this or am I on my Pat Malone?

Would need to look again but I def thought he lifted some arm into him. I thought more upper arm closer to shoulder on the one replay I watched

He braced then leaned into contact at last second by my eye
