As much as I wouldn't want to sign him he's a pretty serviceable backup if you don't have any upcoming centres.
I'd rather have Tracey, Dykes and Iro as backups, but he is more NRL proven ("proven") than two of them and also is available, which helps.

Letting Waqa Blake on 650k go and signing Harper on probably close to minimum frees up plenty of money.

Penis, Simonsson, Asi, Harper is... okay. (plus Cini on Dev contract)
Doesn't really look like a high priority position in their planning does it.
Sivo, Russell, Dunster as wings.
Pretty uninspiring backline to be honest, especially if Sivo has another cold streak next season.
Couple junior backs in Loizou (top 30) and Tuipolotu (Dev) doesn't look like they've extended.

Eels one of the sides Tracey was linked to I think and not surprising seeing the shambles.

I dont get the carry on from NRL fans when their team signs anyone but a superstar. Literally people on twitter saying they hate the club (Eels) for signing harper. **** me, you have to have those types at your club somewhere, thats the salary cap working. Youd have a Morgan Harper as your 3rd/4th string Centre over moving Bryce ****n Cartwright to the centres any day

Yep.

Including dev deals there are ~600 players with NRL contracts every year. Just because someone is in the bottom third of that 600 doesn’t mean they are dogshit. They are still far better players than the other thousands of guys trying to get a gig.

if eels try start Harper over Penis the fans will have reason to complain
Not an exciting signing, like you say, but he’ll be competing to try be 3rd string centre

Some seem to think everyone on your squad outside the top 18 should be up and coming superstars who are ready to explode if given a taste of NRL and anyone who is a mediocre older player is just stealing a spot off one of these guys

But does every team have 12 up and coming superstars in their 30, plus those not in the 30? **** no.

You are always gunna have a few mid-lower tier players in your 30. The salary cap is a balancing act. If you are gunna have a few real high paid players (Moses, Gutho, Brown) you are gunna have to sacrifice some quality at the other end

Yeah he's decent depth, has a red hot go despite not a heap of talent.

Never heard of him. Is he any good?
Same, never heard of him. Someone on twitter said he is a no nonsense work horse.
Grand final he made 55 tackles but not sure of his minutes.
Only 23 years old in November and has played 2 international games and over 100 super league.

Looks good enough for NRL and will fit in with the raiders grindy gameplan.

Pathetic. Probably still has all his teeth too.

Junior Amone found guilty over that hammer/roof incident. Max punishment is 7 years jail.

Great move by the Dragons letting Sullivan go!

Guessing Flanno plays 6 and they ramp up their Tracey chase...y.

He should see jail time as far as I'm concerned, intimidating and chasing a bloke with a hammer to the point he jumps off a roof is not reasonable behaviour. Even if you would have never hit him you're still responsible for the outcome.
And to deny he did it just makes it even worse.
Lucky he was even allowed to play last season.

Agreed. I don't like what he did, but I like that it's the Dragons' problem.
