Should we have a sub forum for the women? Individual player threads, games etc. Or will this just be a mega thread?

The Sharks have announced five more signings to their roster as they prepare to enter the NRLW for the first time in 2023.

Former Dragons Andie Robinson, Talei Holmes and Tegan Dymock will join Knights premiership-winner Kiana Takairangi and Maddie Studdon and don the black, white and blue.

The five were unveiled at PointsBet Stadium during half-time of Thursday night's NRL clash as the latest players to join Cronulla's 2023 NRLW campaign.

Is the club going to announce the signings like they did the others?

Surely this team are favourites to win the comp?

Going to give this some serious attention when it starts up. The way the game is ATM, the women's game is far more enjoyable to watch. It's the one game I could see where the womens game could be just as popular, if not more popular than the mens if given the chance. Too many grey areas in the rules with the speed of the game. It's more in line with your local footy, but these girls are way more talented.

I haven't followed NRLW closely, refused to watch it while we weren't in it, but I am thinking we have some well-known names, but they are not necessarily the top-tier stars of today.

So far we have two of the Jillaroos squad in Tonegato and Wheeler, Tonegato was on the bench for the final and Wheeler was "18th man"

Yeah can’t see that happening ever.

We have 4 home games at Pointsbet Stadium:
  • vs Raiders, Sunday 23rd July @1:50pm (before Sharks vs Manly NRL)
  • vs Titans, Saturday 5th August @ 3:10pm (stand-alone, Sharks playing in Perth that night)
  • vs Roosters, Sunday 13th August @ 12:00pm (stand-alone, Sharks playing at home on the Friday)
  • vs Dragons, Thursday 7th September @ 7:45pm (stand-alone, Sharks hopefully in the finals)
I hope for the two standalone weekend games that they make a big deal out of it. Open the whole stadium, get out the jumping castles and all that, and let people run on the field after and kick the ball around, like used to happen for NRL games before the development happened. With most NRL games being nearly sold out and packed to the rafters, that freedom/fun has been lost a bit, this could be a good way to have some family-friendly days back at Shark Park.

Shame they couldn’t get another game or 2 as curtain raisers to the NRL games.

But having the first game off the rank as a curtain raiser will be exciting for the Ladies.

👍🏻
