The way the media used go on about Thurston, Slater etc - we now have very own.

Absolute superstar, by the time he retires, he won’t just be a Sharks all time great, but also a NRL great. Probably even a legend of Australian sport.

Did you miss the second half?
Yeah saw both halfs & halves . Was a good run by Nicho to setup the try but also saw the forward passes & where the Rosters scored , the dropped ball which Moylan luckily scored off , the kick out on full etc . so Nicho was about no.5 on my ratings this week .

Yep , Buzz is sure to nominate him this season as the next immortal .

I hope to see him develop into a Sharks great but currently still at the talk phase & yet to deliver consistently on the walk phase .

Whatever we are paying him isn't enough for how good he is

Will be one of those rare million dollar players that actually justifies his price tag, often they regress when they secure the big money contract or were just too over hyped. Hynes knows the responsibility and pressure that comes with that paycheck and is relishing in it.

He could be all time by the end of his career, he is that good a player after just a season and a bit of halfback and influential on his team with such a fantastic attitude and work ethic.

This is a bloke just a few season ago I was watching come off the bench for the storm dropping balls and missing tackles looking not all that flash

Even when he isn't perfect he is still so good and one of our best week in week out. His running game killed the Roosters in the end and look how pumped he was when the siren went and they got the win, went and thanked all his players and was smiling ear to ear.

You could tell they needed it and wanted it and he helped deliver the result but seems so humble and casual about how good he is for the team.

He is an impressive bloke - immensely likable

I don't think there is a single league player in the world I would swap him for

Still needs to work on his goal kicking. Piss poor tonight.

He does look a tad off with his radar but is striking them well just getting angles and curve bit wrong like he used to. Not sure what wind was like but there was some rain at times. We are so used to goal kickers slotting them between the sticks from all over the park but they are not easy kicks, they aren't a given.

Hynes effort running the ball made up for it and it wasn't a factor in the end.

Melbourne don't get many things wrong, but they got this one wrong. He would have had them at the top for the most part of another decade.

Yeah, their eggs were in other baskets. I'm sure if they knew he'd be the dally m winner a year later they would have found a way.
He wanted to play in the halves from memory, no way that could happen there.

Just don't think they could have mate.

He wasn't going to shift Munster or Hughes from the halves, nor Papy from fullback. Couldn't foresee Papy's injuries.

From memory the Melbourne offer was ok, but he wanted to start, and they wanted to play him off the bench.
