Not knowing his injury at all.

But even a basic elbow strain is likely to keep him out 4-6 weeks anything more serious would be longer.

Let’s hope it’s just an impact injury and only bruising and fine to play.

Has Hunt done his elbow before? I keep thinking I remember him with one in the past but not certain.

Love the graph on starting verse bench. Hunt just does Hunt 😊

The graph is in line with my impressions of watching him throughout the season in that he was as adept in his role from the bench as he was starting (when BHU was out of action)

There were some games where he made some really damaging runs and even nabbed some try's - they might have even been the games he started as the season went on but either way I don't think his performances were effected much by starting or playing from the bench.

His discipline was already looking better at start of the season but becoming a starter prob just rammed home that extra responsibility of being more selective with offloads and trying to stay tidy in the ruck. He is and was fighting for a spot in the team after all.

Would be interesting to see some analysis on the defensive side of his game in 2022 and also how it compares to previous seasons.

I think he has done a shoulder (2021 ?) , maybe BHU with an elbow previously

Good timing having Jack Williams back though

It's in there. 2021 was a write off for him so I did the comparison on his 2020 season. His higher output in 2020 can be attributed to playing far less minutes.

"Defensive Involvement" is tackle attempts (tackles plus misses plus ineffective). This is a measure of work, not effectiveness. I only look at stuff that you can't find elsewhere, and NRL.com are good at providing tackle effectiveness.

In 2022 Hunt was the Sharks busiest attacker but least-busy defender.

"Involvement" is metres + tackle attempts combined. This gives is a really good view of what role the guy plays on the team.

**** running at that unit
Haha - I don't think it's a knock on him. I think having him do less defensive work than the other guys is part of the plan.

That really is what this stat tracking/graphing is all about. I'm not measuring performance. I'm differentiating players by role. Modern prop role is "stay close to the posts, walk back after a kick, save energy where you can". Most Sharks middles don't play like that at all. Only Hunt.

Was a shining light in the middle. Made alot of quality metres up the guts in not alot of time getting well over the advantage line, carried blokes with him, those he didn't run through that is

So strong, just throws blokes off him when he is close to the line, other big blokes.... wish he was brought on earlier, I reckon he would have been just as effective

Sending him off just gave him a breather to come back on and go hard again - not fun if you're a Raiders defender

That Ronaldo try with the good run and PTB from Kaufusi well Royce had a good run just prior leading up to Kaufusi. Both those lads helped get us on the front foot in that set.

His sinbin was an embarrassment for the game.

Thought he was good tonight, real venom in his runs.
If all the binnings to not give an even up - got players being held and then chucked to the ground in back play and that’s just all okay now apparently… well actually I bet if we tried it then it wouldn’t be…

How could you not clock Horsburgh when he's dancing around and shaping up to you in back play.

That idiot head would make the temptation just that little more enticing.

‘Called him a few mean words’: Raiders enforcer’s hilarious response after Sharks sin bin

Sharks enforcer Royce Hunt was given his marching orders for an alleged punch on Raiders forward Corey Horsburgh.

You just watched

Hunt throws first PUNCH of 2023 season!

Sharks enforcer Royce Hunt was given his marching orders for an alleged punch that “barely repositioned that red goatee” of Raiders forward Corey Horsburgh.
With 30 minutes left in the clash, Horsburgh held his opposing prop back after a scrum, pushing Hunt who landed on his back.

Horsburgh had been pestering Hunt for majority of the match and the Sharks prop lost his cool, striking the Raiders enforcer in back play.
“He was holding me and then pushed me over, he was holding me in the scrum literally the whole time,” Hunt said to referee Ashley Klein.
“I understand that okay, we’ve missed that element of it, but you’ve gone and struck him,” Klein said.
“You’ve taken everything out of our hands so you’re going to go in the bin for striking”.
The Raiders were able to orchestrate a try after Hunt charged back at Horsburgh in backplay.
Centre Matt Timoko charged through the gaping hole left by Hunt, getting his side within 10 metres before Horsburgh crashed over next to the posts.

‘Big red’ gave Hunt a mouthful while celebrating his second four-pointer and Fox League’s Cooper Cronk explained the scuffle led to the crucial try.
“This is it here in the back play, Corey Horsburgh has pushed him over and Royce Hunt has come up and said ‘let’s dance’ and Royce Hunt must have throw a punch - is that it there?” Cronk said.
“Essentially that made the break... and Corey Horsburgh gets one back on the Sharks front-rower because he lets him know about it by scoring that try.
“Ultimately it cost Royce Hunt 10 in the bin and the Sharks are under pressure again.”
Fox League sideline reporter Matt Russell added: “It wasn’t much of a punch, barely repositioned that red goatee of Corey Horsburgh as Hunt lashed out, but still I suppose technically it was a punch.”

Speaking on the Matty Johns show post-match, Horsburgh said the scuffle was all “good fun”.
“Just a bit of good banter, he slapped me in the face so I pushed him over, then he gave me one, and then I called him a few mean words, good fun, I love it,” Horsburgh said.
Meanwhile, Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon was clearly angry with his prop for retaliating and said he “got it wrong”.
However, Fitzgibbon was shocked the Raiders weren’t also punished for Horsburgh’s tactics.
“You can’t just hold onto someone from the back of a scrum, push them over… but you can’t do what Royce did so it should have been picked up by someone before Royce retaliated,” Fitzgibbon said in the post-match press conference.

“Royce shouldn’t have retaliated like that, especially not while we were defending our goal line.
“So Royce will get a lesson in that but you can’t hold someone back from a scrum, push them over then get away scot free while we lose Royce for 10 minutes.”

was a disgrace he carried on like a wanker and did what he did

either get on with it or actually ****ing hit him

dont be a fanny and then let the **** score 2 tackles later

Yeah a shame he got binned for punching when he wasn't even able to throw a decent one. Still, saved him from any suspension at least.

People in here crowing about more mongrel and the bloke throws a punch and gets binned. I guess it did wake us up a little?

**** punch, was kind of restricted by another bloke holding him though. Should have feigned and injury when thrown to the deck and we might have actually got a result from their foul play, which is pretty sad.
