Interesting! Thought between Moylan's extension and the rise of Dykes and Puru that Tricky's days as a Shark could be numbered.

Pleased he's staying. He's got talent.

Not unhappy with Tricky staying for what you'd expect to be a value contract. I don't expect it excludes us signing a more proven starter for Moylan if one presents either, and it gives him time to develop, so all good all round.

When Fitz signed on as coach he said that one of the main things he found attractive about the role was that we had a crew who had been playing together up through the various grades.

He's also said that he'd like to keep them together as a unit, for obvious reasons.

Putting his money where his mouth is.

Maybe there'll be a Will Kennedy announcement too soon.

Echo the others. 3 more years to work on his game and find out if he cuts the mustard. I'm glad we'll be able to find out with him here rather than him going elsewhere and biting us in the ass.

Congrats to Trindall. I know his popularity is mixed, but I think it is a smart signing. He is a very good back up half option and may take Moylans spot off him

Very pleased to see Tricky respected. Him and Kennedy are X factor players that can lead us to premiership glory

I think most people are fine with him as a backup given where he is at and the argument is more whether he should be given Moyza's jersey or not.
I have no issue keeping him around as a back-up half and if he can fight of Puru and need to sign externally come the end of Moylan's run then great.

Thats true Harold but these days when they are playing tight there isn't much difference between a seven and a six on either side of the ruck.
I must say i do miss the big open side plays with both center's and the fullback chiming in, but the way its structured now it wrecks the following play if the ball swings back to the blind side, so they basically stay in their corridors these days.

I miss those centre pairings too mate. I think there's still an opportunity for it, especially with ball playing, mobile 2nd rowers. I mean, our starting centre is a second rower! Talakai onto Ramien (because it'd never happen the other way around 😉) would be a lot of fun.

Yes I remember Brandy saying last year that tricky and SOS were the best back up half backs in the NRL and it was true .

Whether that can ever translate to being a permanent NRL # 7 is still up for debate .

I don’t like taking up a bench spot though.

Excellent squad signing no doubt .

I would agree but with nicho playing at 7. he would either be a back up 7 or have to play 6
Right now, tribal would be a pretty poor backup for Nicho. That's not a criticism of his ability, I just think his style wouldn't work in a team designed around Nicho

Out and out 7. Imo he shouldn’t be playing in the 14 jersey for us. Better to keep playing 7 for the jets and as a fill in for when/if hynes or Moylan get injured. Or they really lose form.

Tbf in many of the games he played 14 there were several other players unavailable due to injury. He may not be a great utility, but he's a guy with first grade experience, so you take him over debuting someone else most times.

It was only that short stint under Hannay in the middle 2021 where he was picked as a bench player over other healthy options.
