Bit of a coup. He was under contract. Was originally a Dev player for 2023 but someone said on here that he was added to the Panthers top 30.

I wonder if his brother will come along for the ride. Those 2 carved the Sharks up in the NRL trial last year.

For anyone interested, here are the Flegg GF highlights. Puru in 6, his brother in 13, Fearnley in 10.

Could of other names in there too. 7 is Katoa (Dolphins) and 8 is Mark Geyer's son.

Think his bro has already gone to Canberra... but I guess if you can take one while on contract you can take the other...

Cheers. Just read somewhere that it is a train and trial at the Raiders.

Too little for too long. He's 23 - they'll be his prime yrs. Be a steal but I'd sense rumblings 2yrs in.
That's the thing, chances are it either ends up being overs or he will want the upgrade well before the end.
Seems like decent value for him with cap increase coming though.

Good player. Have been watching him since he was 17. Bit loose on the discipline though.
Yeah... which some players can fix up and others just never can

Think he’s on 800k next year at the broncos. Must be back ended but that is serious overs for that bloke.

Agree with you both. If I were Tom I'd be backing myself to be earning more than $675k in 2-3yrs.

Reports I saw said he was offered $800k by a Sydney team but signed for ~$650k (2 years / $1.3m).

As you said. it could be that Brisbane were banking on the cap increase and back-loaded it as $500k/$800k.

He was their skipper back then under Seibs wasn't he?

This is actually a really exciting signing. Young half from a good system with good wraps on him. Every chance to be able to come in and claim that 6 jersey when Moylan finishes up.

Is he still flegg eligible next year or will he be playing cup? Any news on the contract?

Nah you're thinking of Carrigan I think
Yeah Carrigan.

I actually though Flegler was one of the best forwards in the comp for the 2 games in 2020 prior to the shutdown. He was playing more minutes, ball-playing, and was an all around beast. Rule change really screwed Seibold's style of play and turned Flegler back in to a battering ram.

Now that the rules have balanced back out again it is not surprising that Siebold wants to get him back.

I agree.

Haven't seen anything re: contract, but you'd assume that he wouldn't walk away from a dev/top-30 deal to just be T&T.

Born in 2002, so still Flegg eligible. Played almost half the NSW Cup season for the Panthers last year though. Was first man in any time O'Sullivan played NRL. You'd have to think with that experience he is good enough to at least compete for #6 jersey at the Jets. I guess it depends on whether Miller stays or goes, and also what's going on with Rivett.
