Ive wanted Ten Hag as our manager even before they sacked Ole. I was delighted and surprised the club were capable of something competent and appointed him over Poch. I have 100% belief in him at the moment, even after we got crushed in the first two games, I understood this is a rebuild, which means this will be a roller coaster season, ups and downs. That’s not to say I’ve agreed with every decision he’s made. Starting Fred at 10 against Sociedad cost us the game, not bringing Casemiro into the team ahead of McTominay a lot earlier was naive and even last night Maguire shouldnt of started ahead of Lindelof. But he’s the manager and should be allowed to manage. I just hope in the near future he gets the structure above him to succeed, because he simply doesnt at the moment.

United are a long way off a ETH team at the moment, but every week the signs are there that its inching slightly closer every week.

It proves that Ole was well and truly out of his depth. I’ve said all along that the squad Utd have is actually pretty good and definitely top 4 level, with a good manager. Casemiro was a great signing, precisely what Utd needed. Eriksen as well, smart business. I also like the looks of Antony, even though he drifts in and out of games he has that x factor.

Ronaldo is your biggest problem at the moment, I bet ETH can’t wait for January to ship him off. If you get rid of him and bring in someone like Nkunku, you’ll be a force.

The starting 11 is very good but the overall squad is still kinda dogshit. I mean whats their depth in midfield? ****ing McFred. VDB needs to get himself fit first. Centre back? Maguire and Lindelof who absolutely do not suit a Ten Hag system. Stick Maguire in Chelsea’s back 5 and he will thrive, I guarantee it, but in a Ten Hag high line high press system? He’s a handbrake. Up front? Ronaldo, then who? Martial? Injured all the time, Rashford? He’s not a 9, he’s a winger. Dalot has had to play almost every minute at right back because Wan Bissaka wont work in a Ten Hag team and there’s no one else apart from Williams who isnt good enough. Left back and wingers are the only spots that have actual depth.

Nkunku is already going to Chelsea. Im still spewing we didnt go for Scamacca, I wanted him all year and they didnt go for it. Cody Gapko has been linked with United should Ronnie move in January, although I dont really see him primarily as a 9, even though he’s played there a lot and done well, Ten Hag seems to think he can turn him into a regular 9, I’ll trust his judgement on that. I’d actually look at Patrick Schick, he has had an up and down season for Leverkusen but the quality is definitely there.

The squad definitely needs more work beyond another striker. They still need another right back, Dalot is one of if not the most improved player in the premier league, but he’s being overplayed. Ten Hag doesn’t want Wan Bissaka because of his limited attacking game, there are options out there who fit the brief, you’ve got guys like Lamptey, Vanderson, Juranovic, Aarons, Dumfries (probably the best of the lot, but looks unreachable), Montiel, Baku and Frimpong to name a few, if you want to look long term you could go even younger like Livramento. There are definitely options that could challenge Dalot’s spot in the team for sure.

They also need another pacey CB that suits Ten Hag’s style of play. Varane and Martinez are clear and away first choice. Lindelof and Maguire dont suit Ten Hag’s style of play, I’d be looking to move them on even though its going to be near impossible because of their stupid wages.

They might also need another 8 that can do Eriksen’s role in the middle of the park, it depends if VDB finally gets his **** together. If Donny cant do it then they have no one else who can properly do the role when Eriksen needs a rest. They’ve used Fred there with mixed results, Fred’s tenacious as **** and fantastic at leading a team press and putting pressure on the ball carrier further up the field, but he doesnt have the technical ability to control the middle of the park that Eriksen has.

First win for West Brom this morning with Carlos Corberan in charge. Scrappy 1-0 win with the goal coming five minutes from the end but I'll take it. I haven't been able to watch the game but from the comments on the West Brom forum, it does look like some sort of organised play is starting to take shape.

Tom Rogic had his first game for us for a while (came off the bench) and the comments were he had some nice touches and looked much better than he did under Steve Bruce. Still a long way for the Baggies to go but survival is the main target here.

Sorry I know it is not important to you EPL guys but my Baggies have just won two games in a row under new coach Carlos Corberan. Looks like he has brought something to the Hawthorns and the players are finally buying into it. Both games were scrappy 1-0 wins but the last one was against QPR who were fourth and it was at Loftus Road so that's a good effort. Next game this weekend is against Stoke who are struggling as well so another win and we may just get some belief back.

Whats your point? There are players there that either arent good enough or dont suit Ten Hag’s style of play (i.e slow CB’s like Maguire or Lindelof) and are a legacy of the Ole days. The full strength first 11 is good, but the overall squad depth is very poor, case in point, they couldnt rotate the squad from Thursday, so you get a sluggish performance against Villa.

The problem is the owners and the board are so incompetent that they gave a lot of these guys stupid wages so they can’t sell them. There’s a bunch of players in that squad that need to be moved on but can’t be moved until their contracts run down.

just as an exmaple, you spent 95 million euors on antony - flashy guy who does tricks, but scored minimal goals and not many assists when there were better wingers that went for a third of the price

Mate, the owners are only spending BECAUSE of pressure from the fans. Remember they were going to buy ****ing Rabiot and Arnatovic this window purely because it was cheaper and the Glazers wanted larger dividends. Its only because the protests kicked off again they went and got Casemiro and Antony. Keep in mind at most clubs any money saved or received from transfers gets reinvested into the club, be it the transfer budget or other club expenditures. At United every bit of it goes into the Glazers dividends. The club doesnt see that money.

Which one of Ten Hag’s signings havent worked? Martinez has had a brilliant year apart from this morning. Malacia has been good and provides perfect competition for Shaw. Eriksen has improved our midfield and Casemiro has been an actual beast. The issue is with some of the Ole, Jose and Moyes era players. Antony is five games into his Man United career.

Antony’s price tag isnt Ten Hag’s fault. He identified him as a primary target to the board in when he agreed to be the manager in April, if the Murtogh and the board had went for him at the start of the window like they should of, they would of got him for half the price (same with Martinez), but no, the owners didnt want to spend the money this window so they sat on their arses and wasted two months, meanwhile Ajax are selling other players and realising that they’re squad is being picked apart. Ajax were happy to sell Antony is June, but not ****ing September after they’d lost so many players. They had every right to ask for stupid money. Thats the boards and Murtogh’s fault, not Ten Hag.

As for VDB, to be fair to Ten Hag he doesnt really have other options there. Also keep in mind he hasnt played a lot of football this season so he’s rusty as ****. If he’s still turning out games like that post world cup then come talk to me.

I find it hard to blame Man United fans for wanting their club run competently with owners who are interested in improving the football team and not trying to maximise their dividends.

Ten Hag is set on completely overhauling the way United play, which means overhauling the squad, which means investment.

You know I respect you and your opinion but It sometimes frustrates me when rival fans don’t understand how parasitical the Glazer’s ownership is.

liverpool dont ever do that so i dont feel sorry for you here

its just amazing that when you guys are winning your fans love every player but lose a game and you want another quarter of a billion spent
