Friend of mine pays about 1000 for 2 scg members + 2 guests. Means only two tickets to the big games like the ashes, but includes all swans and chooks games assuming aleague too. Plus access to all the gyms and pools in the area.

The value is absolutely astronomical compared to what we pay and receive.
That doesn’t seem right. Are these legacy prices or did he pay a large upfront amount and the $1000 is just the annual fee.

You do pay more first year up but it was never a lot year to year.

As far as I know that's changed with the new SFS opening, apparently it's a lot per year now if you want access to both grounds.

Definitely 'inherited' the membership on the sly, but still. I did hear it had gone up, with the new ground too, I'll find out the new price.

*So around 1000 was a bit loose, it used to be about 1400. Has gone up to 1800, still including all the above mentioned. So per ticket pretty much the same as a sharks upper ET.

Haven’t even received any emails about memberships. So haven’t had time to check prices
I will have to add it to my list of things to do, ontop of: move house, start studying my new Uni subject (business analyst) and continue learning new job.

It's been a few years since I've had to pay full price, probably since we left Shark Park for Kogarah. The first year Covid affected it I rolled over to the following year, then Covid affected it again and that rebate rolled over to this year.

Can't even remember what I paid 3 years ago but about $450 per seat doesn't seem more than what I paid last time. Atleast not much more.

With limited seats again next year and every game being a sell out can't blame them for upping the price.

Will actual seated capacity change much when everything is done? I know the PB Upper but that's not a big area really

I think it'll go up a bit, the hill seems closed off a bit, plus also the Chairmans lounge takes up a good chunk. Plus the bleacher type seating where Beer Hill was.

Dont think we'll ever go back to capacity pre construction though.

I’m more talking when it’s all done, yeah I imagine the lounge won’t be moving next year

Yea it's a sellers market right now for the club - low supply of seating relative to higher demand for seating. The seated memberships are going to sell regardless of the price increase I feel (especially if there is less GA hill or concourse available). If we view the club as running a business wanting to make profit and be self sustainable long term it makes alot of sense to protect margins and pass on costs

Having some cash in the bank and assets at present doesn't give the club a free ride

I do feel for those long term members though, especially those with families they like to take and i'm not begrudging fans for being annoyed about it as things are getting more expensive all round and people just wanna go to the footy and have a good time without it costing the bank

As emotionally invested fans we view the club through a different lens

Does seem rough though considering don't seem to be getting much more than previous and the ground isn't complete yet

I guess people also need to realise that things are also getting more expensive for the club and to stay afloat the will need to pass on the costs.

Let's not forget Sharks fans are fair weather as they can get, with a successful year this year and no reason we shouldn't give the Top 4 a crack next year the crowds should be good, clubs should maximise this opportunity.

Yeah I actually thought they may jump more than that. If the leagues club gets finished on schedule, the game days will be even better late in the season, and the whole game day value goes up.

True.

It doesn't help there's basically no parking now and almost impossible to get undercover seats. Lining up for food and beer for a ridiculous amount of time with a crowd of 13k isn't great either.

All these things put people off.

I went to Parra Stadium this year and the experience was so much better it wasn't funny.

Pre kids I'd be in the PB Stand every game without fail, didn't care how **** the weather was or how far I had to walk to get to the ground.

It all becomes much harder with kids. I'll be at the bigger stadiums whenever we play there. I'll also be at Shark Park whenever I can get tickets undercover, which was never this season.
