Hunt and BHU are fine as bench impact but we need a better starting prop. Rudolf played well against the Cowboys but we still lost the middle. It's really obvious that it needs to be fixed and it's not going to be a player on our books that will solve it.

Some of our forwards look like Tarzan but play like Jane in the big games that matter, even Finucane.
Our forwards are too nice, and don't bring fear into opposition teams. This needs to change if our finals record is ever to improve.

We won a comp with Fifita and Prior just rushing off the line in defense to make it a nightmare for the opposition forwards. It would be a nightmare for a guy going for a hitup to see Prior in your face about to smash you front on. The players we have in the middle don't have to be grubs, but they have to be tough.

Not just physically tough, but mentally tough too. At present when something goes against us we fall away and let opposition score soft tries. We can't handle any setbacks atm. Let's see with these couple of young guys coming in next year, it may spark the rest of the team up a bit.

I can’t see Moses leaving the eels TBH.
If you had any chance it would take a massive “overs” offer and I’m not sure we are in a position to do that and fix up our 2 main weak spots (A Harmen Prop and a Centre).

A new centre is a nice to have – not an essential. Either Talakai or Iro will be good enough.

We need a harmen (lol) for next year, and a gun spine player for the next. Whether that's at 1 or 6 remains to be seen.

I really hope IRO is the man. His returns and yardage would be very good for us if he can get the other parts of his game sorted.

Mulitalo, IRO and Talaki would have 400-500m of yardage a game between the 3 of them.

Hunt, BHU and Rudolf all have the potential to be world class props and have been individually dominant in games. What they lack is consistency. Maybe we need to invest in the coaching side, because if those 3 turned up week in week out ready to run through a brick wall, backed up by Finucane, Kaufusi, McInnes and Williams, we wouldn't need another prop.

Or maybe they just don't have that fire in them. They do already have some decent role models to show them the way.

One thing I wonder about Fifita's potential future role with the club.
For the most part he was a very unconventional prop - doesn't mean he can't know and be able to teach the fundamentals, but also doesn't mean he does.
Passion certainly great to have around the club and a great attribute to instill but needs to be getting the other stuff right too.
Previously I would have said some of his efforts around respecting club officials and diet self control were bad attributes to put in authority but may have turned a corner on those since his injury.

Might suit working with juniors more than NRL squad

Iro can make centre his own I reckon with a huge pre season.
Will be keeping an eye on him during the World Cup. Hopefully the Cook Islands coach keeps him in the centre’s.

They've definitely given us reason to ask the question. BHU is my biggest concern as he seems to be okay for a while then dips off or gets injured.
Maybe it's all a symptom of not getting their minutes right, but I'd argue we haven't been able to do that because we're missing a decent minutes opening prop.

I don't mind giving him fullback if he is their best fullback.

Centre is good because it is his likely position with us and in particular will force him to show some defence if he wants to stop International level opposition.
Fullback is good because it puts a bit more responsibility on him on a big stage.

This is exactly what I think and why I was iffy on the SJ, Moylan, Woods signings..All these guys are laid back
Graham since he’s been captain we have been woeful too.

By all reports Fitz is pretty quiet and laid back and Hannay is very very laid back Finucane mentions this about Fitz pretty often.

We have players especially our props with all the talent in the world but without leaders/fire/ruthlessness forcing and driving them to lift their standards daily it will take longer for them to reach their peak - it’s one of the main reasons I rated Flanno as a coach , he was able to get players at that level pretty quick.. let’s hope Fitz can figure it out and gets better as he goes on

Not really worried about the "Laid Back" aspect, don't think it translates to on field, particularly in the Pigs, with most Fg's.
