If South’s win as well as us, I think that puts us 4 pts clear of both them and Parra. Is that right?

Souths are charging home. Getting nervous with how close they’re getting to us. Better for and against too.
Mate they play Penrith (yes weakened), Brisbane away and Roosters. We play Wests, Manly, Dogs and Newcastle.

If we don't finish ahead of them then that's squarely on us, we don't deserve it.

Yeah but thats the same for Parra. They’ve got Brisbane and Melbourne in their run home and yeah they had two more points then Souths before tonight but a much worse for and against then us. Either team winning was bad for us tonight but Souths slightly less so. That was my point.

The important thing is that destiny is in our slippery, fumbling hands.

That would be a good if we got Cowboys week 1 maybe at home and with no away supporters.
Yeah it would be.

What are people's thoughts on our run home? Very easy compared to the other teams around us. Does that prepare us well for the finals or do we go in a bit underdone? Or do the other teams go in a bit tired?

Great run home. That’s why I predicted we finish in 2nd

I think it's good. We can work on the little things, 1 percenters as they call it, without any additional stress.

As long as they know and are aware that they had a soft run and therefore need to step up the effort come finals time, I think we are good.

Yeah we utilise a lot of ball movement which can lead to a lot of errors, good to try and master that where we won't get punished.
Easier run may also end up getting us a home final.
And we are juggling a few injuries at the moment so good to be able to keep that winning feeling through those.

For the best teams winning becomes almost a habit.

There's an article on The Roar from a few weeks ago about the Sharks being/potentially the first team since Broncos of late 90's to finish top 4/win a GF that didn't play a top 8 finals bound team in the last 5 rounds of the regular season

Ofcourse this means absolutely nothing and is just one of those quirky stats that the author puts too much credence on

We had our month of tough games a month ago, not our fault the teams we drew to play in the final rounds had crap seasons

If anything the softer draw should let us go into the finals a bit fresher and less physically beaten up and the timing has been good with all our injuries

We got smashed by the Storm in the final round of 2016 with a minor premiership up for grabs but still went on to play the game of our lives and beat them in the GF

None of this will matter all that much once our first finals game comes around - just win our next 2 games to get the best chance of landing a home final and go from there but whatever happens I expect us to be up for it and if we aren't well I am sure we will be in 2023

Don't agree with this, we were right in that game imo, it was no where near as bad as the scoreline made it look.

Tbh that game gave me plenty of confidence we could beat them in the finals.

Seen heaps of this talk lately.

When the draw was released Manly was a top 4 team and Knights were a top 8 team though.

Plus that 4 games before this “soft last 5” we played 1st, 2nd, 4th and the red hot bunnies walking away with 3/4 wins.

We have won when we needed to win. Not our fault teams like Roosters lost to the “soft” Knights round 1

It gave me a case of the wrist cutting more so than confidence - as did the first 30 mins of the game against the Raiders in our opening final.
It was all glorious from there

You might be right about that Storm game though just I remember us kinda falling apart and getting points put on us second half, losses hit really hard in the pre-premiership winners days

I'm also getting a bit confused with our prelim against Storm in 2018 (similar scoreline) which was the game Slater did the shoulder charge on Feki and got away with it
