Huge win in the context of our season. For us to get through the tough run of teams with 1 loss is amazing. Realistically we should win the next 5 games if we are serious about finals.
We’ll probably drop a game , don’t ask me which one but just a feeling

Nope, not happening. After the month we have I have more faith in our boys (unless they want to take a week easy after theybguarantee the spot they want to be in).

I care because that could be us next week and I would be filthy.

Just like every head clash now I am scratching my head why a penalty/ report / sin bin isn't occurring.
What are the conditions that require a send off and a sin bin?

Dont know the offical ruling but my rule of thumb it be along the lines of:

Potential MRC grade:
Grade 1: penalty, on report only
Grade 2: 10 mins
Grade 3 or higher: send off

Now there is a bit of wiggle room as the bunker doesn't get the time to view as much as the MRC but surely they should be closer alighned that what we see.

Example:
Cleary - sent off, referred straight to MRC
Carrigan - on report only, referred straight to MRC
Burgess - sent off, grade 2

Using my logic, Cleary and Carrigan should both be sent off and Burgess sent for 10. That would have made sense to me.

How Carrigan was not sent off was ridiculous. His was 100 times worst then when McInnes and Nikora got put on report for 'hip drops' but got the same on field grading (ie penalty, on report)

But what the hell do I know?

Cleary copped a grade 3, but you're right most send off charges do cop at least a grade 3... of course that would mean the MRC thought Dale should have been sent.

Interesting to hear some of you say Burgess shouldn’t have been sent.

That happened right in front of me and whether it was 5 min in, 15 mins, 35 mins or at any stage, he deserved to go. Ronnie did not lower himself, Burgess’ main aim was to take him out. There was no accident in it, it was deliberate.

Not that it should influence a referee but Burgess was attacking the head of our players all night so I have no sympathy for him being sent and I was glad he was, that was a simply horrible tackle.

We’ll see what the MRC do but if he doesn’t get charged, I will be very surprised.
Watching live it lacked the force for a send off for me - Ronnie was sweet

But I guess Kennedy's send off was all spectacle and very little force too so you're probably right... it had more force than Kennedy's did.

It’s only not a send off if Ronaldo falls into it or ducks into it, which he did not.

I think your looking at this with blue, black and white goggles and its clouding your view a bit. We are making a mountain of errors weekly. We are far from clinical. We threw the Penrith game away and we rode our luck against Souths. We need to improve. A LOT. There is absolutely no guarantee that we dont drop a game going into the finals.

Way more force mate. As I said I was there and it was sickening. How Ronnie wasn’t hurt more I’ll never know. It was careless, reckless and dangerous and deserved way more than 1-2 weeks.

Just shows his character, many other players lay down for the penalty.

I haven't rewatched the game but I swear the only times I saw Latrell was when he scored the try, a couple of catches and the missed field goals at the end.

I was dirty that he scored as I thought at the time how quiet he had been and that it may fire him up.

We are lucky to escape with that one, especially with all the field goal attempts he had. The NRL / media would have liked nothing better than a hero Latrell ending.

It was also Burgess' second careless swinging arm of the night which would of counted against him.

We'll drop Manly at Brookie because it's Manly at Brookie. Should win the rest though. I want top 2 so can avoid Penrith or a trip to QLD.

Burgess was a clear send off for mine. It was a forceful swinging arm, and worse yet it was his second for the game. Easy decision for the red as a bin or send off was the same result anyway.
