Well considering I am a QLDer I still am very happy for Talakai & do think he deserves it to get in the squad. If he doesn't make it in the 18 at least it will be good to get some experience with the guys. In regards to Hynes, surely it's only a matter of time before he gets in the 17 if Fittler picks a utility.

Will be 18th again I expect

Not a big fan of Hynes being chosen as a 14 personally

Fair enough, I guess he can't get a spot in the 17 if they don't pick any utilities, just go 4 forwards before a utility player. Hynes probably isn't one of those centre players like Fittler chose in the 1st game. Talakai is probably going to be played as a 2nd rower in Origin.

I suppose with Burton, Api and even Talakais utility value in the team, that if a player goes down in the warm up he sees Suaalii being able to slide in somewhere better than Hynes.

Game day experience too, I think they are really trying to get him ready for future origin. Does like a centre on the bench too

Nicho must have spilt the Gatorade !

Good news for us in round 17 though ..
Depends if he flys back with squad or early
We are first game so if it is early good news, if it is with rest of squad doesn't really make much difference and he may as well have been 18th man.

I'd have kept him at 18th man

Looks like the official squad has him at 18th man

Edwards, May, Kikau, Fisher Harris and Leota probably a bit unlucky to miss out on that starting 13

I actually don’t mind that team though
