I wonder if Miller might be a chance of a late inclusion, being a Coffs Harbour local, and having gone well against the Titans last time
That would be a nice touch. Who does he come in for though?

Trindall.
Trindall good odds to start in halves for us round 17

Fitz needs to do what he think gets us a win this round and secondly what best preps Trindall for then.

Being nice to Miller only factors in if he is afraid to loose him otherwise but doesn’t want to.

Yeah I think Trindall would be the only option. I wouldn't see it as dropping him, more just rotating... he must need some proper game time too. Possibly Ronaldo or someone else could use a match off to recover from injuries.

Via the same logic Metcalf would be picked this week...

Maybe put Ronaldon in the front row this week for a rest. Apparently some ofnour forwards on ran for 40 and 50 odd metres last week!

Yeah I don't believe in just picking players for novelty, but it's more just that the timing works for Miller vs the Titans. If Trindall wasn't the incumbent, and you compared the two for the bench this week, I reckon Miller would be the choice. And the season is long and grinding, and if you can inject some excitement and change into the squad now and then, it doesn't hurt. Plus I think Trindall could use a full game in the halves in NSW Cup.

Personally I'll take the player that can tackle every time.

Lineups:

Us:

1. Will Kennedy
2. Sione Katoa
3. Jesse Ramien
4. Siosifa Talakai
5. Ronaldo Mulitalo
6. Matt Moylan
7. Nicho Hynes
8. Toby Rudolf
9. Blayke Brailey
10. Royce Hunt
11. Briton Nikora
12. Wade Graham (c)
13. Cameron McInnes

14. Aiden Tolman
15. Braydon Trindall
16. Teig Wilton
17. Andrew Fifita

18. Connor Tracey
19. Lachlan Miller
20. Dale Finucane
21. Jesse Colquhoun
22. Kade Dykes

Dale is possibly back this week, but Hazelton is out of the squad altogether, which is strange. Other then that, no changes.

Them:

1. AJ Brimson
2. Greg Marzhew
3. Brian Kelly
4. Patrick Herbert
5. Jamayne Issako
6. Paul Turner
7. Toby Sexton
8. Jarrod Wallace
9. Erin Clark
10. Issac Liu
11. Sam McIntyre
12. Beau Fermor
13. Tino Fa’asuamaleaui

14. Tannah Boyd
15. Moeaki Fotuaika
16. Jaimin Jolliffe
17. Sam Lisone

18. Sosefo Fifita
19. Herman Ese’ese
20. Aaron Booth
21. Kevin Proctor
22. Esan Marsters

We’re up against last, if we’re fair dinkum we should be winning this one. Besides, I think we have a decent record playing at Coffs Harbour. But we are Cronulla, and it is a club tradition to absolutely **** the bed against the shittest of the ****. I really hope Dale is back this week, we’re really missing that hard edge in our pack.

In saying all that i’ll go Cronulla by 8.
4.Tracey 12.Talakai 15.Graham.

Graham looks best suited as a mid fwd these days, if you're going to use Trindall as a ball playing lock might aswell use Graham. This allows Talakai to start and stay on the left edge. Though Wilton has been great starting, his impact and mobility off the bench is needed because we have two senior props. Tracey should be on that starting team, strong runner, and that left edge with Talakai and Mulitalo would be strong

If Finucane is named who drops out of the 17?
Dont think Fifita deserves demotion, and cant see him dropping Trindell.
So have to be Tolman

Does Tolman deserve demotion?

I have no issue either way, drop Fifita or Tolman.

We can afford to keep a max 25 min forward on bench in Fifita with who we have rest of line up, but if Fitz preferred the guy that can do as much work as you ask him to then I don't have any issue with that.
Comparable defensive quality although Tolman across twice the sample size, Fifita in his short stints a bit more of a run threat.

Or you can drop Trindall and assuming everything goes to plan, no injury to spine, then you have Graham, McInnes and Finucane - I'm sure one of them can pick up Trindalls 15 minutes at lock at the end of the game.

Im just thinking that Finucane on the bench can cover Tolman.
Tolman is consistent and holds the defensive line, which is what Finucane would also bring in a similar role.
Ive been critcal of Fifita as we all have, but feel that of the 2 (Fifita & Tolman) id rather have fifita there in 2023

Tolman plays more minutes and averages more metres, more post-contact metres and his defensive output is already well discussed. We all know what Fififta means to the playing group but I'd argue with a completely healthy squad next year Tolman has more chance of cracking the 17.

As much as I love both I'm not convinced either should be there in 2023 though.

There's a great video doing the rounds on Facebook at the moment of the Sharks doing JRL clinics in Coffs. Looks good for our boys and our club and it is so good to see them out there doing something great in the community while they are up there for the game.

The other good thing about the video is that they all look really happy and a real team unit ready to smash those Titans on Saturday.

I'd post it but don't know how to do it from Facebook. If someone could do it that would be great.
