less sowhat about injecting speed ?
less sowhat about injecting speed ?
Kaufusi is a F*** dirty grub. The mf is a gun player butThe players know most high contact is incidental, accidental & unavoidable.
The dumb thing is some of the worst knockouts you see are guys going low as tacklers and collecting a knee or hip so policing mediocre high contacts out of the game doesn't even fix the issue.
I do think what Kaufusi did was 100% intentional and he has a track record of forearms but will be interesting to see if he can beat it at judiciary.
It's basically just his word that it was an accident vs them deciding either it was intentional, or at least an avoidable accident.
what about injecting speed ?
To a point, in my day it was up to you when running the ball to protect yourself (as best you could).I don't mind them saying if you're a defender, you have a duty of care to protect that other players head... but we're way beyond that now. A guy can trip over and gets hit in the head, even through his head is knee high and it's a penalty.
Not to mention if you have the ball, you can pretty much do what you want. Imagine what charge Kaufisi would cop if he was the defender and Walker had the ball.
So true. I got spear tackled once. David Manson was the ref. I got picked up by 3 players. turned upside down so I was perfectly vertical, and dropped on my head. He said it was no penalty because I had time to get my hands out to stop my fallTo a point, in my day it was up to you when running the ball to protect yourself (as best you could).
Yes, but that is something you couldn't possibly protect yourself from haha.So true. I got spear tackled once. David Manson was the ref. I was 14 iirc.
How was it playing with unlimited tackles back then?To a point, in my day it was up to you when running the ball to protect yourself (as best you could).
Haha **** me, that stopped in the 60s didn't it?How was it playing with unlimited tackles back then?
I believe so yeh!Haha **** me, that stopped in the 60s didn't it?
Just looked it up, changed from unlimited to 4 tackles in 67 (they were obviously frightened of the incoming Sharks), and changed again for the "72-73" season...I believe so yeh!
Impressive playing a sport like League in your 90s mate.Side note - Dave's brother Doug refereed Masters up here when I was still running around late 90s.
Also answers the riddle how he played in the unlimited tackle era!Impressive playing a sport like League in your 90s mate.
You were 41 and it happened yesterday mateSo true. I got spear tackled once. David Manson was the ref. I got picked up by 3 players. turned upside down so I was perfectly vertical, and dropped on my head. He said it was no penalty because I had time to get my hands out to stop my fall

I agree with this, but I think this will happen if we are full strength. Not having a go at Trindall at all (I hope he turns into our greatest ever half) but surely the experiment of him playing 20 mins in the middle needs to stop.
Not that he done anything wrong last week but surely we are better off have another forward on the bench.
Between Brailey Mcinnes and Graham, we can manage if one of our halves go off.
I think we are more at risk week to week not having 4 forwards on the bench than if a half goes off and we need to 'make do' for half a game or so.
Whereas Fitz cleary thinks an injury to 1,6,7 in opening half is the worst case scenario and wants spine cover. Not having a go at Trindall at all (I hope he turns into our greatest ever half) but surely the experiment of him playing 20 mins in the middle needs to stop.

Not sure you can have 7 on the bench mate.I agree with this, but I think this will happen if we are full strength.
8.BHU
9. Brailey
10. Toby;
11. Nikora
12. Graham
13. Finucane
14 McInness
15. Williams
16. Wilton/Tolman
17. Tolman/Hunt/FIfita
It becomes hard to fit Trindall in when we are full strength.
The / means they are sharing the jersey. Not sure you can have 7 on the bench mate.
I know that. But that's not our strongest line up is what I am getting at. You can't bracket players, it's having your cake and eating it too.The / means they are sharing the jersey.
The Tolman/Hunt/Fifita one gunna be Sharks branded 6 man camping tent
New Sharks only rule. Not sure you can have 7 on the bench mate.
