Can kick too, no offside in goal
Only your own in goal unfortunately.

In goals are not very big though. You'd think it should be pretty for the kicker to advance the 10m and put everyone onside.

Question from the floor..When they talk about play the ball speed, when does that start when ref yells held or actually when player is up on their feet. Noticed that nikora landed on knees and elbows heaps last night and had play the ball under 3 seconds

Yeah I thought the visuals of the joke were worth ignoring that fact

Guess we will hope for kicking around inside your own in goals to find a way out instead!

A couple of funny memories on this...

I remember talking about this with senior refs when I was a kid (I ref'd little kids when I was a teenager). They would specifically teach you that even though there is no offside, you can still be penalised for an intention forward pass in your own in-goal, and that they had recently added a rule to outlaw deliberately heading the ball to your teammates. Given that many rules are made to close loopholes, we all speculated that somewhere out in the bush their was a team running around winning games by heading it to each other - and someone complained.

I was also at a Qld Reds game years ago (corporate box; I would never pay my own money to watch that sport) when Quade Cooper kicked it across the entire length of the in-goal to the winger on the far side. They ran 90m and almost scored. It was one of the most insane things I've ever seen on a footy field. I reckon the Reds coach would have thrown his latte at his au pair.

Someone headbutted the ball intentionally in NRL, saw clip on Matty Johns within last few weeks. Can't remember who though. Was fairly old footage.

Always would have loved to see Quade have a crack at NRL, had his ups and downs but the extra space of the NRL could have really worked in his favour.

Quade always good for a bit of insanity.

Got back alot to help Kennedy and our kick return in general. Took the line on alot which caused the defense some problems at times.

Can't say he doesn't take responsibility

Some handy kicks too.

Is looking slow though like he is jogging but maybe just weighing up the options and watching the defense

I swear his head took a solid hit to the ground as he made the tackle after the first Nikora knock-on (within the first 10mins); stayed on the ground for a few seconds after as well. Surprised he stayed on.

The only critique I have of him is he takes the short option to Nikora far too often

Has a lot to learn but seems the type to do it.

Work in progress.

Still above average when he has a questionable game.

A lot of responsibility on his shoulders but that seems to be what he wants.

Glad we have him for 4 years.

My son and I were travelling to our Table Tennis comp night in Kurnell last night when he heard someone had texted in to Mark Levy's Sports program on 2GB. He asked me how it works and I told him he could text something in himself if he wanted to. I helped him a bit but it was all his idea. And how chuffed was he when they read it out!! Why is it in this thread you ask? Listen to the recording and you'll understand.
