I hear you.

I am a big fan of Trindalls skills and want him to get the best opportunity.

I'll defer to you if you think he is getting that.
He’s two years younger than Kennedy too
So we’ll see how he goes next year with a decent amount of games and then after that he can have a preseason show down for a starting jersey.
That would be the comparable to Kennedy.

Trindall is still young.
Doesn’t mean he can’t play NRL yet but he’s certainly not being particularly hard done by for opportunity either.

I think he is mate.

He is defending well and imo has improved in effort areas. He has also been dominant when he has played cup. This is the first year for all of those things. Something is working - even though he isn’t ready to be handed the keys to the kingdom just yet.

He is still younger atm than Cronk was when he became a starter.

I’m not a fan of Trindal but impossible to judge based on our **** forwards.
But if your using Kennedy as a success marker then move him on now before we are stuck with average

Based on defence alone I think Trindall is worth sticking with in the top 30. He has a running game and can kick...let him serve his apprenticeship for another year and see what he turns into.

Kennedy has been great for us. Safe as a house under the high ball and a large reason our attack in general has been good. Not every player will be Tedesco.

If we re-sign Moylan Trindall will get nothing but the keys to the bench

It's interesting skim-watching the Jersey Flegg Grand Final again where Trindall was man-of-the-match.

Plenty of good players in there - Crichton, To'o, Laurie, Blore, Ferris, Lumelume, Wilton etc

Typical Trindall try at 1:27:30, 8 mins from the end of the game. He also terrorised Daine Laurie all game with his kicking, see example 2 mins from the end. But his game probably hasn't evolved significantly.

That's ok. Throwing him the 7 before he is ready is a 100% guaranteed way to ruin a young halfback, and he clearly was not ready in 2021.

His kicking game in 20's was a feature. Less time and space in the NRL though.

Nice shot from #17 to get the ball back in the lead up!

Lumelume is a good player?

Haha true, though I think any one who's reached NRL can run rings around most other people out there!

Good point re the kicking time. That day was crazy windy too.

#17 was Tom Caughlan

has a knack of coming on fresh late game and instantly making an important tackle on our tryline - dunno if its enough to justify a position on the bench but if a half ever goes down I spose we will be somewhat thankful and he does give Mcinnes who works hard a breather (I don't really want Connor filling in that role)

maybe some day we will see more from him contribution wise with the ball and in attack

Needs to not force it though like he was earlier in season.

Think most on hia would agree he's still not needed on the bench. People keep trying to find something positive in his 15min cameo's. We either need a bigger body or a faster one on the bench, not one in between.

Umm. Not sure I agree mate. I did think like this but considering the injuries we have at the moment I think he is the best fit.

We need some kind of cover for injuries on the halves and he has shown he can still contribute when he comes on.

Credit where credits due , I'd love Miller on the bench instead.
But he did VERY well tonight

Miller on the bench would play a different role... Trindall once again did what was asked of him tonight.
I'm not trying to be a smartarse , but what do you feel was asked of him ?
Defend well peehaps ?

I think firstly he's in there for halves cover... and if not needed it's 15-20 mins in the middle to defend.

Fair Call
But , not many teams have a halves reserve on the bench
Do you think Miller might be able to do good bench job , even in the halves if push came to shove ?
